This is the kind of activity that legends find themselves taking part in. Simply spectacular and would I think the car world would love to see some of the shakedowns that Bruce does in high quality. You could have quite a large audience I believe. Canepa has the opportunity to make some of the world's finest automotive content with the knowledge and caliber of machinery.

Agreed. I went on a organized drive a couple of weeks ago, and we toured his facility. We happened to meet him coming in as we were leaving, and he spent quite a while standing in the parking lot talking with us. He told all kinds of great stories and took us across the street and showed us his other showroom, and spent even more time chatting with us, super laid back, and very nice. It was a highlight of the drive.

The fact that I knew folks in the 80's that would pay you to take one of these "Old broken cars" out of their garage to the scrapyard makes my heart cry. I worked in a scrapyard that we lived near by in the rural Chicago suburbs. Just for cash and parts, an schtuff...Id go along on a pickup to Inverness, Barrington hills, or even downtown in a storage place once. And wed be looking at cars I had not the foggiest notion about. All I knew was rich people cold only buy them. And when we took them apart we could NOT SCRATCH ANYTHING..!!!. Thats the owner crying at me. Lol, did my best. But we salvaged so many cars i remember many now when I see them listed. And at sooo much$. I'm like Hey I remember we took apart a car like that's interior UPSIDE DOWN! In the winter, because it was wrecked and the contents of someones cranium were still pooled in the roof/headliner hair, bone, stuff lil tiny things here and there that were of a deceased human. So the boss always made me be serious there and not crack jokes. I understand now why he was somber. A fine Italian car had died!

Is this a fantastic replica, or a genuine first 25 chassis numbers car. Strange to put it as #30, as that was the number on one of the Spa entries in 1969, it did not have the long tail extension for that race. Be interesting to know the chassis number. Thanks for the upload.
@TinyBearTim8 күн бұрын
Isn’t the long and short tail just a conversion kit ? It probably got changed later
@tangerinedream72118 күн бұрын
@TinyBearTim the first 25 cars for homologation were were all shown as short tails with the additional bolt on tail extension. The cars ran without the extension at Spa, Nurburgring and Austria. After running at the Ring ,Frank Gardner said the handling was terrific, a mixture of Terrible and Horrific, Gardner and David Piper were called in to drive the single car, as the regular Porsche drivers preferred the 908 Spyder. But for the clutch failure , Elford/Atwood very nearly won Le Mans in 1969 with the 917 Langheck.. A fabulous car, Bruce is a very lucky man.
