Great to see your assessment of parts. That’s always the most difficult piece for me; deciding whether something needs to be replaced or is OK to use. Thanks for that info.

It's always fun to watch your videos, but more importantly, I almost always learn something new from them. Thanks, Elin and good luck on getting resettled.

In Business News, stock of Permatex leaped today amid unprecedented demand for their Gasket Maker, with exceptionally strong international sales near Toronto.

I was thinking the same thing, but you beat me to it. LOL! BTW, Permatex is my go to for this sort of sealing as well.

Core plug ! It would be great to lighten and balance the crank and flywheel of the spare engine when you rebuild it... make something interesting and special when you have the time....

Maybe when I am doing my own engine. The GT6 At work I don't make the decisions.

@16:06 Oh yeah, this was the engine with the sheet metal fasteners in the oil pan. :)

Yep! I might keep the fasteners as they are the only ones fitting in this seal carrier LOL

question on the flywheel bushing - is that bushing supposed to spin inside the flywheel?
@RustyBeauties
@RustyBeauties 2 жыл бұрын
It is mostly providing a bearing surface for the transmission input shaft, but since it is not pressed in the fly wheel, I guess it should be able to spin in it's bed too.
@rossilake218

It is a loose fit, not pressed in. Lightly grease the inside. Remember this will spin out the grease. Most likely an oillite bushing. The only time it spins is when the clutch is pushed in. Newer cars have a sealed roller bearing.

I've picked up a lot from you Elin, don't stop. It's not wrong to ask for some recompense for all the work you put in. I'll get on to Patreon after this. I'm currently putting a 2.5S engine in a 78 Spitfire with HS6 carbs. I don't know if it's been done because of the room issue. Would have been easier with Strombergs. I have enjoyed your vids on the overdrive. Mine's a J-Type but Canley do a manual about it with plenty of info.

I question your meter when you checked the coil as it was showing a resistance reading before the test. Does it read zero when the test leads contact each other? If not, the reading should be deducted from the reading from the coil. Just an observation, I am not that versed in how the meter actually works. Always enjoy your videos, keep them coming.

Yeah, I noticed that when I was editing the video. But I think that was 0.06 or something like that because I was holding the probes.... Doesn't really matter as that coil is garbage anyway. I got a new one already.

Hey Elon, there is a typo in your Patreon link in the description.

I hope you can get settled in your new location without any problems. I have a question about when you moved the engine from the engine stand to the hoist. Would you not come in to the stand with the hoist from the transmission side and then you could swing the engine around to the proper orientation to go in the car. From watching your video it looks like the stand would fit between the legs of the hoist a lot easier. Love and Peace. Blessed Be. Doug.

Believe me, I tried everything. These two pieces of equipment just don't work together. But it is OK, there is always a way around it.
