1978 Mustang II Custom Dash Panel

I wanted to upgrade the dash panel for my 1978 Mustang II, so I purchased a set of Autometer gauges and modified the factory panel. Not only does it look cooler now, but Autometer gauges are extremely reliable, and the Autometer harness makes wiring them up relatively easy. I can't wait to put it in the car!

I have a 77&a1/2 t roof car. I love those cars. When I was driving it a rarely saw another II and only once saw another T roof vent car.

I am deleting the dash vents because I deleted the HVAC unit under the dash and intake on the passenger side, I will be routing 1/4 inch plexiglass to fit into the cowl grill in front of the windshield so no more rain or debris can get in the cowl area, originally it was a disaster in there and as you know the cowl does not come off unless you cut it off. so I will be doing some reconfiguration and installing new sheet metal before putting the cowl back on :)

Thankfully my cowl area is rust-free otherwise I'd be doing a lot of sheet metal work! I live in Florida, and while I raced around in my '77 Mustang II for many years without A/C, I'm older now and want the comfort! Thanks for wathing, and good luck on your project!

my son's 78 I am building I have to modify after market parts and fabricate most items, installed chassis connectors, so right now in the process of fabricating front firewall foot space torque boxes, it has a 9" with 4:11, using a 68 cougar gas tank, 32" ladder bars, we have a 72 302 block for it and a world class T-5, this video can give me some ideas on the dash, thank you

the small block is for him to get use to the car, future plans is a 429/460 big block

I've always found big blocks to be no fun at all in a street car. They can never seem to hook up the tires, and handle poorly. But, to each their own. Thanks for watching!

the wood grain peels off the gauge cluster, I am using brass sheeting
