Thanks it’s a great motor it’s taken quite a bit of abuse from me and still pushes 35psi at cold start and somewhere in the 20s warm it’s almost been sitting 2 years coming up

I had an '83 with the 305. Easy way for more horses. 1. Cut the belt for the emissions pump 2. Run a straight pipe in place of the catalytic converter. There isn't a sensor after the converter, so it will run fine without.

Alex Hawke wish it still ran like this but if you check out my channel on how it’s been running the past few months the carb is shot now and needs rebuilt and the smog pump is gone and my plan for it is to at some point do TRUE DUEL exhaust no bs and get a new intake plus none emissions carb, get some headers too it will be a GREAT MOTOR DESPITE WHAT EVERYONE SAYS NO DAMN LS MOTOR 😡 thank you for understanding these motors are great!!!

My first car was an 82. 305 4 speed automatic. Needed a lot of work and I f*#@in sold it like a dumb@$*. Dad got it for me real cheap and it was a beast for a first car

I’m going to not and try and sell it but is really hard seeing it sit almost a year now and have no money even to start it

@@TFD1982 that's the way it goes for most of us. I'm trying to find a good job where I can make money all year so I don't have to keep getting rid of my toys. I'm definitely on the look for another firebird

I have the same car as you. Just bought it but im having trouble removing the power steering belt. Is there another bolt/nut to loosen besides the three?
@TFD19823 жыл бұрын
Not sure/don’t think so you pu might have to remove the bracket

How did you get the belt over the fan? Do I need to remove my fan?
@TFD19825 жыл бұрын
Tina Parker No if you got the correct belt you should be able to do it I did one blade at a time but if that’s too hard removing the fan is only 4 bolts and it should come off easily

How did you get long bolt in keep having same problem will not thread in so I can use ratchet to lock in ?

Punisher Tactical from what I remember I had to keep moving the alternator around and pushing it would probably be easier with two people

Hi. Whats the pump thing under the alternator? My 82 trans am engine bay is so butched up, I'm amazing it still starts and runs at all.
@TFD19827 жыл бұрын
hoffmachine from what I'm guessing it's maybe a smog pump we tried to get a belt for it but they had none the right size for it so luckily the old one was still in good shape
@TFD19827 жыл бұрын
hoffmachine also the volt meter does not work but it is getting a charge
@TFD19825 жыл бұрын
hoffmachine Yes it is a smog pump that was required back in the 80s for all states but now Ohio does not require emissions so I will be deleting all of it

2 things you need are a tripod and a set of ratcheting box end wrenches!
