I was at this game....Ed and Noel. What a great moment. Leaving the stadium I told Noel...'better let me drive...I have more experience" We hit an ice patch in 20 seconds and went backwards and hit a bridge abutment....but we didnt care. The car still worked...we got home...fixed it ourselves...and had a merry Christmas

My family didn't have money, my Dad got tickets to this game from his company. Probably because of the weather forecast. Only Redskin game I ever saw in person. Was actually behind the goalpoasts when Mosely won it. Such a thrill.

I searched hard to find this one, Mosely hitting that field goal to win, Thiesmann throwing the block for Washington, the defense absolutely blanking NY in the second half sacking Brunner almost at will and Riggins doing what Riggins did great memories, thanks for letting me live them again

Still remember the TV announcer saying Theismann tv career was over because he knocked his teeth out on that block. LOL.

Mark Moseley won the NFL MVP that season. Very clutch that season.

The CBS opening music from this era is intoxicating while the pipes of Jack Buck are hypnotic. The greatest era of nfl football Imo.1979-1998

20:27 Joe Washingtons helmet decal feathers hang straight like every other year before and after 1982. The rest of the team (as far as I know) has the 1982 curved feathers.

Sunday, December 19, 1982 (This would be week 15 under a normal schedule). Gametime 1 PM EST at RFK Stadium. Started at 36 Degrees F, and overcast, with rain and snow mix featuring later in the game. Called by Jack Buck and Hank Stram. The 3-3 Giants face their long time rivals 5-1 Redskins. Always a good match-up to watch - back when Football was Football, Lawrence Taylor was a game-changing terror, and Washington was still the storied Redskins. Fight for Old DC!

Giants and Skins had a great great rivalry in the 80s… I remember watching these games with my dad. Still do, but we’re both a bit older now haha

Thanks for this great game. I have been a Redskin guy all of my life, and I am 76 now. Dad took me to my first game at Griffith Stadium in 1957. There have been some lean years along the way. How about two wins total for two years? That is almost Detroit Lions bad. How about Jim Brown integrating the Paleskin end zone three times one Sunday afternoon (thanks, Shirley Povich, for that observation). Then there were the Ramskins, and Washington was back in the playoffs for the first time since 1945. But then comes Coach Gibbs, Coach Gibbs, goodness gracious wasn’t he the man!

It's always good to watch the Redskins when they were coached by Joe Gibbs in their glory days. How fans wish those days could come again, and soon. I think this team with Adam Peters as their GM will have those days come again in 2024 and beyond.

Any season impacted by a strike/lockout is a lost season imo.
@starwarsROXmy Жыл бұрын
Stupid reasoning… it may not be a full season but it was still a season. A lost season would mean there was no games played, for example the 2004-05 NHL lockout. Besides, the players stood up for themselves and won what they wanted in 82… in 87, different story.
