Aza Vi У канадцев всегда были лишние игроки на поле, это арбитры. В чистую они выиграть у легендарной сборной СССР не могут физически. Их хоккей всегда держался на грубости, запугивании и конечно же бешеной поддержке зала и арбитров на площадке. Хочу заметить, что почти все игры СССР играла на выезде, в США и Канаде. И Североамериканцы ничего не могли сделать. Правда иногда сборная СССР позволяла себя побеждать, но это было крайне редко. Победа СССР была как правило.

That semifinal game is , my opinion , the Greatest Hockey game ever ! I have it on VHS tape. I've seen it at least 5 times , from showing my friends , and I've always said it's the greatest game. I'm from Montreal and I went to the exhibition game , between Canada and USSR at the Forum , before the Canada Cup tournament started. I hope someone puts it on KZbin.

@@Hinchcliffe16 - Gretzky was good alright, but he couldn't take the hard stuff the rest of the league had to deal with. He had a special status in the NHL, even though his roots are Russian. BTW, without preferred Officiating, N/A does not win a game from Russia, & other Euros as well.

Don't forget Tretiak didn't play, not to mention the small ice surface with all the hooking and holding Canada does too. No comparison. The Soviets were superior hockey players by far. Gretzky would play 3rd line on the Soviet team.

На этот турнир сборная поехала без Третьяка , Фетисова , Дроздецкого , Жлуктова , Хомутова , Быкова , Тюменева , Балдериса , Капустина , по ходу турнира получил травму Ларионов -тем не менее по игре сборная СССР была лучшей командой на том турнире . Ну а в полуфинале элементарно не повезло в овертайме - тогда советские хоккеисты были непривычны к ним .

It's a great argument for keeping a team together instead of throwing a team together at the last minute. Still great hockey. What if Canada put all their best players on one team and played full seasons together *) We know the answer:)

I would imagine you as well as millions of other N/A's don't remember The Series of The Century., Feb. 1979, the first odd game series involving Russia. Russia won 6-0 in the final game, even the N/A biased officiating couldn't save them. That year they played the complete lines of the best teams, not just stars. They also paired the best defencemen, & the two top goalies. In game 3, Tretiak was sick & they played an unknown Myshkin in his place,...again SIX-ZERO, for Russia. The Russians were head & shoulders, better than the NHL, (back then), things are more even today, as North Americans started playing 13 months a year, as they claimed the Russians did.

Wouldn't matter. The Soviets were better. You have to remember this was played on a small ice surface and Canada hooks and holds the whole game. Not to mention Tretiak didn't make the trip. Wouldn't matter if Canada played together all the time. The Soviets were superior skaters, passers, and had a superior system of play.

in today's game, Messier's hit would have had him thrown out of the game; elbow plainly aimed at the head and he left his feet to hit the Soviet player. i'm glad the USSR won this particular game.

Канада СССР 3 6,Канада Швеция 2 4,Канада США 4 4,чего это было?А я понял цепочка случайных неудач непобедимой,великой на кубках Канады сборной.Поговорка про танцора к ним ,конечно,не подходит.Она подходит команде победившей сильнейшие сборные мира в группе во всех пяти матчах и в результате случайности в овертайме вступившей готовой умереть на площадке сборной хозяев.А может проблема все -таки в другом.Наши заточены всем своим опытом играть в турнирах,где измеряется сила команд,а Канадцы в кубках где измеряется удачливость.Сила и удачливость всё-таки. ,разные понятия.Вопрос кто все -таки был сильнее в 1984 ,и кто бы выйграл серию скажем из трёх игр.

При игре по правилам хоккея, у канадцев нет никаких шансов выиграть у самой сильной сборной в мире, сборной СССР. А арбитры просто делают свою карьеру в НХЛ. Попробовали бы они не судить в пользу Канады или США, тут же потеряли бы свою денежную работу. Поэтому пятёрке советских хоккеистов приходилось играть против канадцев (фактически сборной мира), канадских арбитров и канадской публикой на канадской площадке. Таков капитализм, всё только за деньги, а где деньги, там умирает спорт.

Похер было на всех Грецки-хуецки.....как ни посмортишь игры 70-80х, сборная СССР сувала просто всем подряд не зависимо какой состав выходил у тех же канадцев. Противнику нужно было выпускать на поле еще 5 игроков чтобы как-то держаться.
