First part that hits the assembly line is a heater core. Rest of the car is built around it. Had a Crown Vic with a leaky heater core. Paid 26 bucks for a replacement then started reading in the manual about removing the steering column, dash, etc. Decided to bypass it and only drive it on warmer days.

In 2005 I saw a 1987 Mustang lose control and go into a ditch at over 60. It hit a culvert and cartwheeled through the air, snapping a telephone pole in half. A dude was ejected and killed, and the engine was thrown probably 100 feet or more down the road. The firefighter who rolled the dead kid over to ID him was his dad. Happy new year!

I'd love to see it. Carries me back to my younger years. I had a fox body that I could walk down the track until I got stupid with it one night and rapped it around a concrete base light pole in a grocery store parking lot. I should've never had the car on the street anyway but being young and stupid, showing off but I also had the same color GT you have except hard top and all one color. I miss them both. Thing is they were both so totally different in riding and driving style but I had a lot of extras on the fox body. Lock diff, so everytime I tried to drive it on the street and turn with it, the tires would bark, bored out spraying all sorts of nitrous. I've got to say that was the only car that ever scared me. I wanted to turn my GT into a drag car but after the light pole incident, it was time for me to grow up a bit and leave it stocked because if I would have had that car built for the strip, I probably wouldn't be here today, not sayin' I didn't add a tank and a few extra small things to make her faster than the stocked ones. So yes, please finish her up and get her running right. She maybe a turd now but she's almost a classic turd and i'd love to see it in the daylight running like it suppose to run. Good Luck, stay safe and God Bless. Oh and tell YT to stop cutting my bell off.

Before you do the injectors, I strongly suggest looking for the smallest vacuum leaks first and fixing any that are questionable. The worst one I found on my '90 was the teeny tiny 1/16" vacuum line that goes to the hvac controls. My car ran like hammered crap (sounded like yours to be honest) and after I found that line it ran like new.

Glad you liked it. Love that car. I've always had a love/hate with Ford and Mustangs, as early on in my life I was a Camaro/Chevy guy (well...teen). Hi. On the Ford 5.0 the hp mustang has a different firing order than a regular 5.0. The cam is different. You can compensate by changing the plug wires, but on the FI engines you must change the injector wiring also.

That Mustang is a nice project. I had several back in the day. I had to remove the IAC valve on every one of them to clean with carb cleaner. They get a miss and die at stop lights/signs. If the car has sat for a long time, the injectors may just be sticking. I've cleaned them and had them work just fine afterward. I'd suggest the next size bigger injectors if you are changing them all out, JIC you want to make a bit more power with a few mods. P.S. Those heater cores are a huge PITA to change out... P.S.S. A good first mod would be some decent subframe connectors.
