Alec White It really doesn't cost that much to make the R32 as fast as the R35, the parts are way cheaper and more common, the RB26DETT is a far better motor and it's an inline which are superior to V6's
@Trades469 жыл бұрын
As epic as the R35 is, the pinnacle of the GT-R IMO is the R34; it fuses almost everything great about the R32 & R33 and distilled it into a compact, focused, high performance & great looking machine. Unlike the R35, the R34 looks both mean & lean, while the R35 can't make claim to the latter. I also still think the RB26 is a motor with greater tune potential than the VR38, and the RB sounds loads better than the vacuum sounds of the VR.
@Trades469 жыл бұрын
***** Funny, the R33 was MY least favorite: IMO it had ungainly proportions, too 'round' in appearance & felt more like a GT car than a sports coupe.
@joeyvenal73049 жыл бұрын
Um its Not called the R35 because the R30 series ended at the R34, The reason why its not called skyline is because Infiniti took the name for their car
@Trades469 жыл бұрын
Vinh Tran The chassis designation changed when the GT-R & Skyline are split off. Previously they were all under the code 'BNR34'. The new GT-R carries the internal code "CBA-R35" where as the Skyline/Infiniti G35 is coded "V35". The later Skyline/Infiniti G37 is the 'V36' and the current Infiniti Q50 is the 'V37'.
@Trades469 жыл бұрын
Vinh Tran Joey Venal is referring to the internal chassis codes used by Nissan themselves. At no point in time was the Skyline GT-R or Infiniti G35 was EVER sold with the names 'R3#, or V3#'. Yes they wear different badges & sold under different trims in various markets. Hence the internal chassis codes to denote the car in question by the company itself. This was later picked up by the enthusiast community and used to distinguish the generations of the cars.
@Trades469 жыл бұрын
Joey Venal It is: look up the internal designation of the current GT-R as the R35 (Nissan deliberately named it this way to continue the naming theme of the prior generations). Since the Skyline/Infiniti G35 became its own thing, it changed to the chassis code 'V35' with the number corresponding to the generation of the Skyline name. The current Infiniti Q50 is henceforth the 'V37'

You know what? In 25 years from today, your old GTR will fire up and drive just fine. But that new one, aged 25, will never turn a wheel. It just won't go. And no one will be able to fix it, and if they can, the price will be eye watering. The cars of today truly are disposable - and keeping modern classic on the road is going to be next to impossible. Or rather, impossibly expensive.

The Skylines are cool but honestly I do prefer the R35 GTR. I mean, the Skylines weren't mind blowing fast from the factory but they respond so well to mods so they became very fast if you modified them. The R35 is blistering fast from the factory and I think it's a better looking car. The R34 is by far the best looking out of the Skylines if you ask me and comes close to the R35. And like the Skylines, the R35 responds great to mods so people make them way more ridiculous than they already are. In terms of supercars, it's quite possible the best performance bargain out there. I AM NOT hating so if you are a die hard Skyline fan, keep your nasty comments to yourself. I'm simply stating my opinion.

Both twin turbo. But the tail lights would have most people in my area thinking" is that a corvette or a skyline?" When they see those double circular tail lights at night. That's the main signature of skylines r32 and beyond. Its the one thing they kept since the infamous rb26 engine ended with the r34. Glad they kept them.

I remember when the R32 GT-R was first launched. Being Australian, we were the ONLY country outside of Japan to officially receive it, so we did see them on our roads and it dominated our touring car racing series until it was eventually banned at tthe end of the 1992 season. The nickname 'Godzilla' was actually coined by Australian journalists from Wheels car magazine..and in 1990 the R32 was every bit the tour de force that the R35 was when it came out in 2008 (and still is now). Back in 1990, it's style, technology WAS revolutionary compared to cars of that era. That said, I love the R35, still my favourite especially in that beautiful blue.

+kai davis Lol this guy must be trolling, the 34 is the most over hyped of the lot. The difference between an R32 and R34 really isnt massive, an r34 from factory is only marginally faster round a track when compared to a 32. When tuned the difference is even smaller
@KeenanStyles9 жыл бұрын
the only reason I give credit to the 34 is because it has a getrag and doesn't have the oil pump issues. The 34 is the most reliable of the bunch. Not to mention the fact that 34s although maybe the most hyped they are still expensive so you don't see them every 5ft like you do the 32s. Everyone and their mom has a 32 which is another reason why I sold both of mine, well that and I got absolutely sick of changing out coilpacks. The fan boy hype makes me throw up in my mouth a little each time I see a 32. Personally someone would have to put a gun to my head to ever make me consider buying another Skyline GT-R.

I think this may be the first video of yours I flat out disagree with. Yes these cars are almost a drink age apart but you can still see where the new gtr came from in the skyline. If you compared a '90's civic to what you can get today there would be way more differences. Any car model that has lasted more then a decade you can always see the minor changes each year and usually the over concept stays the same, improving each year slightly, but the new GTR just has a gap....but if there had been models year after year it easily would have been a seamless transition from the first to the current. Love your videos keep up the awesome work!

As an owner of both an R34 GT-R V-Spec and an R35 GT-R, I can say in confidence, the R35 is better than the old Skylines in absolutely every way possible. It would be nice to have a traditional stick-shift manual transmission as opposed to an F1-style dual-clutch transmission, but after hopping in the R35 and taking it for a spirited drive, you are quickly alerted as to why a stick-shift manual wouldn't be a great idea in a car that's throwing you violently back into the seat whilst you're holding on for dear life anyway.

+Robert Douglas Haha yeah, I thought the R35 was the first with awd... :) I shouldn't underestimate the Japanese! The Audi Quattro was released in the 80s already... :)

I still want a new GT-R with the old straight six. They could get more power out of it if they wanted, and it's not like "weight savings" is a good reason for the V6. The only downside is a straight six would squish the cabin space.

Now please compare the 1990 300zx to the 2015 370z. I LOVE my 300zx, and would enjoy seeing how far the Z line has come in 25 years.

it's amazing how 25 years worth of technology can change a car lineage. don't fret though, since your 1990 Skyline is the original "Gojira", the one that started Nissan's domination in JTCC.
