My wagon is now 32 years old and looks and drives like a dream. Never missed a beat in the 10 years I've owned it.

My friend has a 91 626 dx with the original snowflake alloys and a 5 speed, and today about 358,000 miles. He paid $300 in 2007 for it. I love that front lip and badging! Looks better than most

These "gems" keep popping up, so thank you for posting. Not sure what Ted means "8 years" as this generation 626 was only on the market (North America) from 1987-91. A new generation appeared for 1992.

Idk what’s with the complaining about storage space, i have a 88 glx and it’s got a nice box/tray setup in the armrest, sliding shelf under the passenger seat, and of course all the things that are mentioned in the video. For comparison, a 93 mercedes w124 i owned, had way fewer places to put anything, and also a smaller glovebox. A car that was what, 2-3 times the price of this back then? For daily use, this 626 is arguably the best budget classic to choose, preferably with a manual trans and a/c.

Even back than cars were way cheaper in North America than here in the Netherlands. My parents 1991 mazda 626 was a red sedan. With a 2.0 engine 4 electric windows and a/c. For 40,000 ! But it was a great car. We did roadtrips all over europe in it with a RV behind us. Had allot of adventures with the 1991 626. Prices didn’t changed. What we pay for like a VW Golf in america they can have a truck for the same price

The 2.0 90hp version gets 8L/100km! That's amazing for a 2 liter japanese car from the 80s!
