Someone put a slightly larger turbo and gets 100-120HP and said it's already scary at that range. Honestly I Hayabusa maybe too much. These are the same engine as a Cappuccino, Alto Works, etc so performance parts are still plentiful. Artic Cat has these motors with 150hp in their snowmobile. Everything feels faster already since you're so low to the ground. I have a '92 AZ-1, the most I'll do it a turbo swap but it's fast enough as-is IMO; definitely doesn't feel like 64HP. They weight 1600lbs. I did dream of a Hayabusa swap when I 1st bought the car, now I think it would be a death wish. Now I dream of a 100hp range.

I love how much information he is giving, when I bought my supra from japan from another seller: they used low quality pictures and angles that did hide the paint issues including rust and missing paint, including he said that the body is in excellent condition but the roof had 2 holes under 2cm of body filler(the filler had started cracking)! I didn't get anything back and the seller denied all the issues by saying that they werent there... Keep it going, you'll get plenty of happy customers by being so kind by showing every detail of the car. :)

These things are so cheap in the "sold" area of the auction site! My wife said no more 2 door cars for a long time but I think it would be hilarious to bring home one of these!

I got my '92 a few months ago. The seats are stock, there are a couple extra holes near the mount for some reason. There were less than 4,400 made for these AZ-1. Suzuki made these cars for Mazda, not just the engine. They also have their rebadge Suzuki Cara but very very few were made (under 200). The engine is clicky, sounds great around the 5.5k RPM and up. Those ceiling covers are hard to find and worth decent $ for what it is, make sure the owner gets them (if not I'll buy them!)

I've only done tune-ups, nothing more major than that. There is an access hatch behind the driver seat to get to the exhaust part of the engine (turbo, header, oil filter, etc). It's still cramp so things will take longer than it should. I don't think it would require to drop the engine unless it's something major.

Can wait to get mine in few months! There are some things you can do for space, rails can be modded to go backwards another notch, seat can be defoamed. For more radical solution rails can be dropped down and lotus elise seats fit nicely for us over 6 foot drivers.

Actually, those ARE the original seats, and they all sag on that side bolster. They might've replaced the mounting points if the prev owner was very tall or something like that, but I'm positive those are the original seats.

The fake carbon fiber effect ISN'T stock. Pity, some of the mods are not very tasteful. Also, front bumper and hood are from a Mazdaspeed version (probably a regular version, but fitted these afterwards, which seeing the rest of the car, looks like it might be the case)

AZ-1 and the Cappuccino are excellent downhill street racers due to their low weight. And yes a good driver can drift them on a downhill, but due to their narrow wheelbase this is quite difficult to control and a testament to the drivers skill.

Maybe the seat rail has been changed to satisfy the previous owner... idk But those are the factory seats, that design is in all AZ-1 I have have seen online and they try to match the padding on the seats with the main body color.... in a Blue AZ-1 will have blue pads. And there is a hole in the fire wall where the front bonnet scope is.... well there should be. lol
