Did you need the bypass harness that runs from the back of the trunk to the front of the car? And would the scosche connector work also as the connector you used on the car? I have that same radio exactly

Question, My 97 Deville concours stereo will not work at all. I know its not the stereo itself because i already tried to others factory stereos and same issue. The issue is only static noise will come out ALL speakers, on any mode tape,cd changer, radio. I dont think its the speakers either. Do you think it could be the amp? dont know what else. I have a 99 Deville and when I went to go get my aftermarket stereo installed they said that they would have to move the stock deck to the trunk. Am I missing something or are they just trying to gouge me for unnecessary work?
