Waco, James, Phil, Dudley April 2020

In this informal round-table discussion with 1950s Davidian spokesperson Dudley Goff, Dr. James D. Tabor (UNC Charlotte), and Dr. Philip Arnold (Reunion Institute, Houston, TX) explore the origins of the Millerites, the Seventh Day Adventists, and the early Davidian movement led by Victor Houfeff, that flourished from 1935-1959 outside Waco, TX. David Koresh, who was not born until 1959, was very much a latecomer to the Davidian movement. Arnold and Tabor, who were both involved in the 1993 Waco tragedy, offer their academic analysis of the phenomenon of biblical apocalypticism and how it helped them understand the "Branch Davidians" who rose out of the Houteff movement. Great presentation gentlemen. When living in Montana I attended a S.D.A CHURCH IN BILLINGS. The congregation was kind Bible believing people. I have since changed to a non denomination Christian church.

So horrible that the FBI purposely withheld the videos of Waco interviews saying, "Don't let these videos out to the public because it will create widespread sympathy for the human side of the situation." Shows the dishonesty and manipulation of the FBI, which we still witness today. I joined a small software company in 1993 two months after Waco, after leaving Apple--almost everyone employed at this company was SDA as the founder was SDA. We had many interesting discussions on prophecy and I attended a couple services at their church. I was just a mainstream, born-again Christian who didn't agree with their interpretation of prophecy. The SDA employees were good people to work with. The company was bought by Symantec in 1994, and I moved on to Intuit, while key SDA employees were retained by Symantec.

It is unfortunate that the interview did not clarify that the infamous prediction that Eze. 9 would transpire on April 22, 1959 or thereabouts was solely the private uninspired interpretation of Florence Houteff and had nothing to do with the teachings of V.T. Houteff and the original Shepherd's Rod message. The real tragedy is that this colossal blunder caused Mr. Goff to lose his faith in the message along with many others. This very significant point is rarely, if ever, made clear in all of the academic papers, books, articles, movies, etc. that are published regarding the branch Davidian saga that took place in 1993.

Pray first read God's word develop a relationship with God daily he will work with his holy spirit to convict of sin, of Christ's righteous and the judgement. God will reveal more light if we follow what he has given us. Any thing else will be spiritual confusion and spiritual blindness and spiritual craziness leading to no belief in God or his power to do the impossible.

Vernon Howell aka David Koresh was NOT a "Branch" Davidian, although he claimed that name. Howell did not teach the doctrines brought out by the Rodens. The teacher that came after the Roden's died was Doug Mitchell. Research Doug's testimony.

As a 12 year old Seventh day Adventist in probably the same church the Davidians separated from in Waco TX in 1973. My grandmother who brought me into the church , constantly warned me against Branch Davidians and preached they were Devil Worshipers. My grandmother probably became a member in the late 40s to early 50s, so it was a fresh occurrence in her mind. That is also what all Seventh Day Adventist thought of them. I am not a Seventh Day Adventist anymore. I am a Seventh day follower of Yeshua. I'm not like all the Hebrew roots people. I study the teachings and preaching of Yeshua and the permanent statues of Torah but not the oral laws.
