1997 GMC sonoma extreme door sag door hinge repair

The drivers door of my Sonoma was sagging so bad I was afraid I was going to break the window from slamming it hard enough to get it to close. Several years ago I had already installed oversized bushings but last fall those failed and now it was time to fix it.

seems like they could make an oversized bushing you could drill out the hole bigger and put it in. wish they would i got the same problem. going to try tack welding some washers over it

But if they did that, it would make way too much sense. And we can't have parts manufacturers make sense. As an aside the poor old Sonoma met its maker in a junkyard a couple of years ago, however the drivers door still shut nicely after my repair.....well what was left of the drivers door anyway.

Put the bushing in and weld the gap up,weld wont stick to the brass and it will be smooth when you pop out the bushing.grind it flush and touch up with paint you will never know it was fixed.
