Thank you Chris! We appreciate your feedback to make sure we're offering the best solutions in these videos. We were pleased to illustrate that the PAUX fits the cigarette lighter receptacle with ZERO modifications.

Hello, I just purchased this kit along with the 6x9 for the saddlebags. My question is, how would I run the high level to each speaker without a amp to get 50 watts per speaker? Thank you, Jason
@rockfordfosgate2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason, great question. The internal amplifier produces 25W at 4Ω and 50W at 2Ω. All 4 of your speakers you have are 4Ω, so if you ran the fairing speakers off the front channels and the bag-lid speakers off the rear channels, the built-in amplifier will only produce 25W each channel. If you ran a front and rear speaker (wired in parallel) off the front channels, it would drop it down to a 2Ω load to produce 50W, but that power will be divided between 2 speakers (50W /2 = 25W per speaker) This may not be enough power for your system, especially the baglid speakers. For optimum results, we would recommend the external amplifier and amp installation kit (the Stage-2 kit). The baglid kit plugs directly into the amplifier's rear outputs, so without an amp, you'll need to make a MOLEX adaptor to mate with the connector supplied on the harness.

Does the kit come with the auxiliary to replace the cigarette lighter
@rockfordfosgate4 жыл бұрын
As mentioned in the video, the PAUX is an optional accessory. You can purchase it online here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/paux/

Is there bass and treble adjustment on the radio I don’t see it on mine
@rockfordfosgate5 ай бұрын
Press and hold the MENU button, then scroll to BALANCE > FADER > AUDIO. You have access to a 7-band EQ and the Punch EQ which is essentially a Bass/Treble control (+/-18dB at 45 Hz and +12dB at 12.5kHz).

Will this work with a pre installed boom amp and speakers
@rockfordfosgate Жыл бұрын
We do not recommend using this system with pre-installed BOOM! amplified systems. Due to the various wiring configurations that H-D produced during the 98-13 time-frame, we unfortunately cannot guarantee plug-n-play fitment.

Does it work with the factory handlebar controls?
@rockfordfosgate4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is plug-n-play and integrated using the factory harnesses, allowing you to control the radio using the handlebar thumb control. More photos can be found here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/pmx-hd9813/

Sorry we missed your original post. You use the rotary encoder to scroll through folders, then press the encoder to enter the folder. You can find the owner's manual here: rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/library/2019/09_motorcycle_kits/1230-70243-01-e_pmx-hd9813-man.pdf

Would this head unit push rocksford Fosgate speakers that are 75 watts RMS/ 150 watts peak? Or would I need to install an additional amp ?
@rockfordfosgate2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer, it's adequate to power speakers directly, but limited to cruising. If you're frequently on the highway or riding at 40+ MPH, then we would recommend an amplifier.

Are you able to use the original controls on the handlebars with this system?
@rockfordfosgate4 жыл бұрын
Hi Cory, great question. YES, the thumb control on the handlebar retains its functionality since we're utilizing the factory harness.

Would this work with my 2010 street glide CVO street glide? Plug and play ?
@rockfordfosgate2 жыл бұрын
It should be compatible, just keep in mind the PMX source unit is not compatible with factory amplified systems, CB, Intercom, rear volume controls, and factory equipped satellite radio systems. You can check the compatibility of the connectors by comparing your radio with the PMX here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/pmx-hd9813/

Is there an amp sold for this unit?
@rockfordfosgate4 жыл бұрын
Great question wunder8962! The Stage-1 system utilizes the built-in 50 Watt amplifier built-into the radio. The Stage-2 and Stage-3 use an external Marine Grade TM400X4ad amplifier as shown here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/hd9813sg-stage2/

You should have showed how to access the 2 rear stereo mount bolts because it's a real pain in the ass!!!!
@rockfordfosgate4 ай бұрын
Yes, they are a bit painful. At timecode 1:59 we do specify using a "long reach 3/16" Allen wrench" and at timecode 2:04 we show a closeup of the rear bolt removal. Having a ball-head Allen always makes these easier, but we were able to reach it without one.

Hogtunes and you like to connect to the cigarette lighter but you forget i simple thing - when you use this port (charging your phone or something else) and music is on, interference is. But, on the other hand, this allows the radio to turn on exactly when the motorcycle starts, and not always, discharging the battery.
@rockfordfosgate3 жыл бұрын
We're using the USB cable provided on the PMX-HD9813 source unit as the cell phone charging port. We simply disconnect the +/- DC voltage wires running to the cigarette lighter and tie them up, then use the 3/4" hole vacated by the cigarette to mount the PAUX adaptor.
