Sincere thanks for showing me this! I ended up doing it by myself in a dark garage but took probably 15 -20 minutes for the rear side and 5 minutes for the front. Also I used carpenters pencils to hold and push the o-ring but your demo was a blessing, thank you man! Respect!

This worked perfectly. Gaskets were $2.22 a piece. I did not use dental floss. I used a pair of hemostats to get it started and rotated the tube with needle nose pliers to work the gaskets on. Whatever works! Brilliant video solved my leak. Thanks!

I SAVED $1,500 by replacing these O-Rings myself instead of paying the Honda Dealership. They wanted to spend 15 hours on it at $89/hour + TAX. Their excuse was that they needed to remove the engine and take the heads off just to get to the cross-over-tube. I originally came in for a $200 carburetor cleaning, then they said i needed 2 new carb diaphragms for an extra $214. Then they replaced a coolant hose and also noticed that these O-rings leaked pretty bad. So by the time they tallied it up they had me up to $2,100 dollars. I just rode it home (2 minutes) with no coolant and parked it until i could figure something out.

Thank you guys for your video. I have a 2000 Honda shadow vt1100 that is leaking coolant from the same crossover tube. I will be performing the same job. Again thank you for the advice and video

Do you have to drain the coolant first? Just wondering how much coolant will come out when you open the crossover tube up.
@Justinbowling15 жыл бұрын
Dominic Zito not much since it already leaked from there

Great Video! Saving me $1500! Can you give me the part number for those O-Rings? I have an O-Ring set but they are to thick so the cylinder isn’t popping back into place.

The dealer is doing my fuel valve under my tank so they have to remove the tank, but they're going to do this at the same time so they're charging me an hour worth of labor after the fuel valve so I think they're saving me money by doing two jobs in one. I'm also getting my fork seals and steering head bearing done. Unless you're getting a coolant flush and replenish with new hoses and a new radiator with the new cross-over o ring and tube I can't see how this could run you about a grand. Then again, I've had service desks give me a price quote and not charge me until the work was done and the work wasn't anywhere near as much as the initial quote.

It's hard to sympathize when you've been riding a bicycle back and forth to work for 3 weeks. They wanted too much for it, and I could find another bike on Craigslist for close to that price.
