Hey Steve just got a fox body and I want to do this swap, I’m only 18 so I’m trying to do a 2j swap the most budget friendly way, I was wondering all the parts I need to make my dream a reality. Motor mounts, what transmission fits in the fox body, what rear axle, stuff like that Thankyou bro have a good day

Hey brother, thats a solid project but keep plugging away and you can do it. As a disclaimer, I didn’t swap the car, I just got it running right and am upgrading the turbo kit. HOWEVER, I can give you an idea what you need to do. Mounting the motor) My k member is the stock Foxbody one with custom brackets for the 1J to sit in it. It’s solid mounting and uses the factor 1JZ mounts - bushings. -custom fabrication required FYI) trans mounting area is tight, to drop mine you need strategic holes in the firewall OR you need to unbolt the subframe and drop it a few inches. Trans) Either Collin’s or PMC makes 1J/2j adapter kits for a bunch of trans. I have experience with Collin’s and Brett is legit so would go with them. Personally I’d go with a 5speed ZF box. They are cheap, tough and small so easy to fit places. Drive shaft) Custom drive shaft based on trans choice Rear end) Stock ford 8.8 is a brick shit house. My advice would be stick with that. The aftermarket for them is extensive and affordable. Rad support) This will need to be modded depending on the rad you choose There is lots of other parts ECU, shifter, intercooler ect but that give you an idea of what it takes to get a JZ in a Foxbody.
