Season 4 episode 6. I loved seeing Pip. He showed that a disabled cat could do anything (sadly even become a bully) Also I notice that a lot of people in KZbin comments on the animal planet videos are very harsh towards the owners. I'd be curious if in future videos you could talk more about the owners because I think the show only shows a particular point in time and not the whole story. I feel a lot of them may have been better than the cameras painted them to be.

Same. I marathoned it once I adopted my first cat in 2017. I always have been a cat lover since I was a child, but it was so refreshing to see that someone was out there showing the potential of cats as pets. You have to gain their trust. My dad who was a “cat hater” for years finally warmed up once our first cat got here and he watched this show with me and the rest of my family!

watching my cat from hell changed how I saw my cat’s behavior and ultimately changed how I interpret all creatures’ behaviors (including humans) bc it taught me that no creature is inherently bad or mean, those behaviors just tend to come out as a response to fear or stress. I genuinely think the show made me a better, more understanding and patient person 🖤

We rescued a 6 year old (?) stray that has FIV and was so sick (upper respiratory desease) living on the streets. We came across him in a businesses alley during winter time. We couldn't leave him there suffering and let him die. We coached him with some food and literally grabbed him and carried him into the cab of our truck. He required intensive medication, daily breathing treatments, warm bed and a safe home base to pull through. He is now been with us for over a year now and a pure joy in our life. It was this episode that taught us to not give up on him. Thank you Jackson!

I think it was in one of the earlier episodes, there was a black cat with extremely aggressive behavior. She was up on the shelf and you were testing her to see if her reactions were making any sense. It turns out they didn’t and that she had a mental illness. Medication turned her around completely. That was one of my favorite shows, you could do that one 😀

I was always a huge animal person that grew up with dogs only. I was slightly scared of cats because I didn’t understand them as much as I did dogs, but I always had a respect for them. Your show is how I discovered you. You changed my perspective on cats and their behavior and taught me that they’re highly misunderstood creatures. You gave me the confidence to go into shelters and cat cafes to understand and hang around cats more. I grew a whole new love and understanding for them from your show, and I actually just adopted my first cat about two weeks ago because of you. Her name is Maeve, and she has quickly stolen my heart and she is a happy kitty thanks to all the wisdom you have given me. You do such great work 🫶🏼

I used to be obsessed with My Cat From Hell when I was a kid!! My dad and I used to watch the show back in Kuwait after he came back from work. My Cat From Hell played a huge roll in my upbringing. It helped me understand the basics of communication with cats and animals in general a lot more than I would’ve ever been able to. I became a volunteer for two organizations in California(humane society and a cat shelter), I’ve rescued two cats and a senior dog and I currently foster a young kitty. I’ve helped so many cats integrate in the shelter and socialize them with other animals and humans. I’ve applied everything I’ve learned from this show and successfully applied everything I learned in real time!!!!! What a blast from the past!!!

I had no idea what to do and watched hours of "my cat from hell" on youtube. That was a huge help and I think I understand them quite well now. Thanks a lot for making me able to bond with them.

Dear Jackson Galaxy, My mother, who is 81 and very frail, lives with us. We have 8 cats. Momma began dreaming that I gave her a tiny grey kitten. She dreamed this a LOT and even got weepy when she told me about it. Momma had never had a pet of her own, so I knew I HAD to get her her dream kitty! I went online and searched all the rescues in the area until I found a little grey kitten...she had come to Kansas City all the way from New Orleans!!! I contacted the shelter and arranged a meeting. I didn't tell momma because I didn't want to get her hopes up. When I got to the shelter the foster dad brought two other kittens because he didn't want me to adopt the little grey one. He said she was too feral. I reached right into the cage she was in and took her out. She snuggled right into me like she had always been mine. He couldn't believe it!!! He called me the "cat whisperer" and showed me the fresh damage she had caused him when he had to catch her to put her into the cage to take her to the shelter for her visit with me. This kitten I was holding was clearly NOT the same kitten she was earlier that morning! He still tried to talk me into one of the two tabbies he had with him INSTEAD of the grey kitty, but I was POSITIVE she was THE ONE!!! We could not take her that day because she had some growing to do before they would have her spayed and they could not send her home with me unaltered. But, I begged them to consider her ADOPTED. And they did. ( I had adopted from them before so they had already checked all my vet references and I had even fostered bottle babies for them, so it was a done deal - this grey kitten would be cat #9 in our house). I went home with pictures on my phone and told momma she was expecting a baby girl! She was SOOO EXCITED!!! A week later, she had gained enough weight and was able to have her surgery and we were able to pick her up. Momma had decided to name her Orlean, since was was from New Orleans. We picked her up from the vet's office and she took to momma right away, there were no signs of the feral kitten we were warned about. We got her home and she fit right in like she was BORN here. For the first few months everything was perfect...then momma got sick and ended up taken by ambulance for a stay at the hospital. Orlean missed her momma terribly and stayed in her bedroom most of the time Mom was gone. The door was left open so she and the other cats could come and go...but Orlean stayed mostly in the room, waiting for momma to come home. A couple of weeks later, momma broke her foot and the ambulance came and took momma away again. This time for about 3 weeks!!! Orlean stayed in Mom's room again, but this time something changed...our oldest cat decided that Orlean was an outsider and started attacking her...bad!!! To keep Orlean - who was MUCH smaller - safe, I started closing Mom's door when I couldn't be there in the room to separate them. This behavior got worse and worse, even after Mom got home, and we started keeping the door closed all the time - but allowed all the other cats into the room whenever they wanted. Only Meow-Meow was banned from momma's room. Fast forward a few months and Mr. Nubbins - one day out of the blue - decided to start attacking Orlean like it was his JOB to try to KILL her!!! Before this they would lay together and play together and seemed the best of friends!!! Now there are two of my cats who try to get in momma's room, intent on KILLING poor, sweet Orlean...I don't mean little scuffles, I mean all out WAR!!! Fur flying and everything ( just Orlean's). Poor Orlean is TERRIFIED every time the door opens and I don't know what to do. I've tried all the things I know: feeding them on opposite sides of the door, getting Orlean scratching posts and a cat tree ...buying Feliway and plugging it in all over the house. Nothing is helping...please.... PLEASE!!!! What can I do??? This is bad enough while Mom is HERE, so Orlean isn't alone (except every couple of months when Mom ends up in the hospital again for a few days at a time and I spend as much time with Orlean those days as I can - at least a couple of hours a day). Momma won't be here forever...she is in bad shape and will pass MUCH before ANY of us are ready...and then Orlean will be alone in that room, except for the time I can be in there, which will not be constant like it is now. ( I basically spend all my waking hours in the room with Mom, to spend all the time with her I can ...but when she is gone, I have to go back to a normal, daily life...). PLEASE HELP ME!!! I CAN'T get rid of Orlean, she will be the one CONNECTION to momma I will have left when Mom is gone...and I can't get rid of my cats...so WHAT DO I DO??? Oh, in case you are wondering, we still allow the other 6 cats into Mom's room and have only ever had one problem with one other cat (Bugatti) one time... Please Jackson, for Orlean's sake, momma's and for mine...PLEASE help us!!!??? Much love and desperation, Michelle Edmonds

On the channel page of this KZbin Channel, there should be an email address. Write to that one! Make sure to title it something very clear like "Adult cats suddenly started attacking kitten, what do we do?". Your comment is drowned out in the comment section by the many, many other people who post here. No one on Jackson's team might find it here. However, he says that his team does field the emails, so that should give you a much better chance! I wish you and little Orlean the very best!

I found you also from this very episode! My husband and I had a black cat that started attacking us after an accidental kick in the face coming out of the kitchen. I had many deep cuts from our poor PQ who started attacking us whenever we came home and I was deathly terrified of him for a while. After taking him to the vet and clearing any health issues, we kept him in a separate room with litter and food while we worked with a cat behaviorist to repair our relationship. We didn’t want to rehome him but we both felt very scared being around PQ. We started watching episodes from My Cat from Hell and it was comforting to see people who had similar issues and fixed them! We eventually managed PQ’s stress and aggression with play and reassurance! He lived to be 13 years old, but passed away 2 years ago. 😢 But … we just adopted our second black cat 2 weeks ago and the introduction process has gone smoothly thanks to Jackson’s videos! Thank you so much for caring about cats everywhere ❤

Finally someone who was there to better the life of the cats while educating people on it. I was always against the methods used in Dog whisperer, it all seemed too aggressive and gave people the wrong impression about dogs and animals in general. There really is no need to "show who's in charge", and i'm so happy Jackson Galaxy got the message out there.

Ah. My heart-cat was a feral kitten that it took me 3 months to bring home. I fed him every few hours throughout my workday for those 3 months. He knew when to expect me & came out when I called ~ since I was his meal ticket. At about the 2 month mark, he came to me & rubbed against my leg. Gradually we worked up to my petting him. Labor Day weekend, I took a cat carrier with me. The day before I had dosed him with a flea-med. I put the food in the cat carrier, he went in, I zipped it up, & we drove home. It took well over a year before my husband could pet him, but at the vets while the cat was already too scared to move, I had my husband gently pet him. Best buds after that. We had him for 13 years. Blessings! Jackie in upstate NY

I remember after all my hard work of trying to socialize my feral and when he first let me pet him I cried. It was the best feeling ever. And now he’s my best friend and sleeps with me. He wasn’t doing well outside he was so sickly looking he had avoided traps and after he got hit he wouldn’t let me pick him up but crawled in the trap willingly I rushed him to a vet in a trap. He had a spine fracture and he ended up on crate rest to see if he could heal. He did and in that time got tamed and never went out again.

Well she was busy getting a job then working then hanging out with her friends after work and after a month we felt bad for the cat so i began to visit him with snacks 😂 and after i made friends with him we began to let him out and he was so thankful and sweet and we fell in love with him. I didn't know i liked cats 😂😅 anyway long story short she moved into an apartment and took him with her and then she gave him away and said that he's an outside cat now. I was horrified. I asked if we could have him. We had fallen in love with him 😂 and she brought him back one day and he had been attacked by cats and dogs and was still healing. But he's still here years later and even my husband loves him!

My two were semi feral. They were found as babies, extremely sick, the shelter treated one, the other was too spicy, then just had em in a room and the only time they met humans was for daiy feeding. They were extremely shy but not aggressive and not terrified and a year of just letting em settle, feel at home and then slow desensitizing so they learned that touch feels nice turned em into two cuddlers

The work you do is wonderful, and I feel better knowing there’s a lot of people out there who understand cats, some thanks to the show, because I will admit I still get a little upset when people greatly misunderstand their behaviors.

I used to watch these episodes with a lot of interest. What you have achieved, 'rescuing' cats AND their owners from sad, n seemingly hopeless situations, to a happy family, is stupendous! Happy tears! 😻😻

Honestly without your show, I wouldn't be as knowledgable about cats as I am now. Your show encouraged me to start doing more research so I could do better for my baby boy Niko, whomst I got when he was 6 weeks (at the time we didn't realize he was 6 weeks and not 8). He was my first kitten and I honestly seeked guidance from your show on how to solve certain problems I may have had. I definitely failed a lot during that time, but it was a learning experience and I've worked hard to be better for him and to educate my parents as well. Thanks to you and your show I managed to introduce his half brother, Tigger, and have them live together peacefully. No fights ever broke out, only growling and hissing from Niko. They now sleep in close proximity to one another and never had a single fight. I even raised a kitten named Teaca whomst my cousin owns, she and her littermates were orphaned and taken on by my mother's friend until we took Teaca home (she was also the runt). All of my knowledge went into raising her and introducing her to her big sister who she now lives with 24/7. My pont here is that your show, and YT channel have been a huge help and I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have done to educate all of us on our feline friends, we all appreciate you.

I so so so miss My cat from hell. It was always one of the shows I was looking for. I currently have 3 cats that I got after my previous 2 passed away with cancer 6 months apart at 19 and 15 yrs old. One of my cats now used to be a street cat is highly sensitive to any animal noises and he ends up super freaked out by the episodes with highly agitated kitties, but we have a talk and he calms down. Thank you again so much for bringing cats to the masses and show how beautiful and individual each cat was. This also helped with showing that cats are social and love being loved.

Jackson you truly are a gift/blessing to not only cats, but to us (and ALL animals really, the human and non-human ones - fellow vegan here). Thank you for your incredibly important work you did then, and the incredibly important work you continue to do. We love you so much and are so grateful for you bro - xox

This was so cool. I remember that as a kid I would watch my cat from hell on my grandma's TV and I always forced her to sit through it anytime it was on animal planet lolol. You were proly one of the reasons why I love cats so much and why I feel so much empathy towards them. It made me take the perspective of "animals aren't evil beings, humans just don't know how to live with them a lot of the time". Now as an adult I'm a huge fan of your channel and I would love to see more my cat from hell commentary. It was awesome to see a peek behind the scenes. Anyways, I love your work Jackson, whatever content you put out I'm sure we'll love 🐈⬛

Living on a rural road there are always cats that show up. Most of the time sick, pregnant and/or feral. The most important ingredient in the magic of feral to tame is patience.

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for this show. I always had dogs and when a cat followed me home, I had no clue they weren't trainable and tried to let him out in the backyard to do his business the first day I had him which resulted in him getting stuck in a yard where a pitbull lived. He was declawed front and back when he found me and I would have let him outside because I didn't know better. He will always be my soulmate kitty. Your show is the reason I was able to give him the best life possible. We've had a total of 2 cats that lived long and happy lives because your show existed to show us how to own cats. Thank you so much!

I got a kitten from a rescue . They didn't tell me he was feral. I live in a camper. I didn't see him for 2 weeks! I would just leave food out and I knew he was eating. One day I was putting children in his dish and he came out. That was 4 yrs ago. He's never been outside since he came here. He's very affectionate to me but I would never try to pick him out nor has he ever sat in my lap. If anyone knocks on the door he hides so nobody knows I have a cat. He's a wonderful boy and I wouldn't trade him for nothing. ❤❤❤

I watched u on that show and cried...I had 1 cat at that time and was heartbroken seeing how some strays were treated and thinking what if my girl was a stray. That show changed me. I now have 4 cats (3 were previously feral) because I seen ur work and realised all they need is patience, understanding and love. Do they have their good days when all they want to do is snuggle and be loved on...yep. But the other side of that coin is days when they are antisocial and do NOT want to be looked at, let alone touched...realising they're still the same cat was a game changer.

I've been watching the show recently with my cat, who's about to pass. She's been very weak, and I'm trying to spend as much time as possible with her before I have to do what I have to do. But she's been enjoying the show, her little ears twitching and turning to look at the screen at these other cats. I keep telling her not to get any ideas. It's just been nice to enjoy with her. And seeing all these people and how much they love their cats helps me through this difficult time.

Jackson, my Mom, Margie, had an intuitive built-in ability to not only relate to cats and dogs, she loved them and I watched her numerous times befriend them by her voice, attitude, patience, empathy. And they would adore her. These were stray or found cats, kittens, puppies, dogs. Ones we knew needed homes. She was the Genteler. She loved to watch your show and usually would say it was the owners who needed to adjust their behavior, not the cat. I inherited a little of her ability but I had to learn the patience she always seemed to have. Mom passed in 2018 and I have her shared Tuxedo furbaby Julie with me now. I can't be Mom to her but we have a bond too. All your shows were great. How could we choose? Greetings from Laurey and Julie in the Midwest.

This show taught me so much about my cat and it’s helped me so much to make her goals and my family’s goals converge and give her a good life. I also love watching it as a child therapist bc it really shows how caregivers can make some hard but simple changes and really get incredible tangible outcomes

I remember this episode, maybe as a rerun. I have a cat adopted from the Dumb Friend's League that turned out to be feral, but at the same time friendly enough that when I was in the room with him he hid under the chair. I just had this idea to sit in the chair, which made him hiss. Then I dangled my hand down to the side and after a minute I felt his head rubbing against my hand and then purring. That's why at first I didn't think he was feral, until I tried to put him in the carry case at home, he freaked and scratched me as he pushed away. I also found out he was picked up off of the street. But he does not bite or scratch on purpose. He can be skittish and does not like strangers, but likes to follow me around and recently let me cut his front claws.........and he has such a loud purr when I pet him.......even though he was a street cat, he must have had some relationships with humans who fed him, and he is not interested at all in going outside to the catio I built, at least not right now......

We've had our scaredy cat Moon for over a year. It's been very slow going. I know we're on her schedule and not ours. She has really taught me the meaning of patience! But she is finally starting to really come around now and be part of our family. It's so rewarding to watch her bravery and resilience grow. We just want to give her a good, happy life. You've helped us a lot!

I watched MCFH basically all day every day growing up, it was my favorite show out there! I'm glad you're still around on KZbin! Man, I was tearing up too when Minibar let herself be pet. It's such an amazing feeling when a cat finally gives you their trust after all that time being afraid. I work in a shelter and a cat there, Lapis, came in just as spooked but after months of work she's so playful and funny! Still doesn't like to be pet tho, but she's plenty social otherwise!

"My Cat from Hell" is honestly invaluable as an educational tool. Not just because it shows and repeats the most important basics about cat needs, but also because it repeatedly demonstrates that it's okay to not start out perfect. It shows that even if cat ownership feels confusing and overwhelming at times, that doesn't mean you don't have a chance at something lovely. I feel like if I hadn't watched that show before getting a cat, many of her habits would have alarmed me and made me think she hated living with me. I would probably have made some mistakes that could have endangered her health. I would have blamed myself and given up too soon. But I did watch the show. And that gave me the knowledge and perspective to be gentle when my kitty got feisty, and the understanding needed to read her expressions of love as such. The show helped me ask the question "Am I committed to being a good cat guardian even if my cat is problematic? Am I willing to love this little creature and care for it even if it's different than I imagined? Even if my pet won't act like a best friend or snuggle bug? Even if I catch a bite or scratches?" And when Milkyway clambered into my lap and fell asleep there, I got to answer this question definitively with "Yes. I am. I will love you as you are and I will care for you." I really hope this show gets endless reruns on TV, because I truly think it can inspire many generations of deeply loving and responsible cat guardians.

I watched your show religiously as a teenager and it really touched me on a fundamental level. The lessons I learned have really helped me bond with cats and help other people bond with cats as well. My in-laws had a cat they'd all just kind of given up on because he was just so violent and they were afraid of him. I didn't live with them so I couldn't just adopt the cat, but I managed to teach him how to play with toys using some of the methods from the show. It honestly calmed both him and my in-laws down a lot and made their relationship a lot less adversarial - people weren't getting bitten or scratched randomly nearly as much, and consequently weren't as frustrated with him. It was such a small thing, but it made a huge difference in the end. Also a funny note about community cats! I didn't know we had some in the area until one of them had kittens in our garage. I know there's no way she knew I spent years volunteering with orphaned and feral kittens specifically, but I have to wonder... She stopped bringing in random animal bits after the kittens started to let me pet them, but she was so sneaky I honestly have no idea if she was still visiting them. I only ever saw her once or twice. I caught the kittens at 9ish weeks (it took us a week to rebuild trust with the remaining kitten after we failed to catch them both at once) and they're both now in their forever homes (as indoor cats!). Plus no more dead squirrels and random bones in our stuff!

I adopted my first cat in 2019. Before that I have to say, I never really watched your show before. I’d see commercials of it while watching reruns on River Monsters, but I never watched it. Then, I adopted my cat. And I wanted to be the best cat guardian I could be. I remember your show and searched you on my DVR. And from the moment I watched my first episode, I was hooked. As time passed I have seen every episode of My Cat From Hell multiple times. I used a lot of what I saw on there for my cat(cat tv, playing, bonding, wet food, scratchers and owning their territory,) and all that other important stuff. While my cat isn’t perfect he’s definitely not a cat from hell. And I have you to thank a lot for that. I wish you still did more episodes of this show. Not just because I found it entertaining because I wish there was a advocate for cats out there, whether with a home, stray or feral.
