Would love to see this US Rubber high tops cut in half to see how they stack up against converse. Been looking for a high quality alternative to classic Chucks for a long time

Did you try the chuck 70's trek, the ones with the outdoor soles? I was just looking for a pair but im not sure yet

I've got a pair from when they were "Colchester rubber co" and they are FANTASTIC. Rather narrow but spectacular quality
@micahvolpe2847Ай бұрын
They would be solid rubber if cut in half with some perforation / air pockets in the removable soles. Solid rubber though. I got a pair and they are okay compared to chuck 70s. A lot different tbh. They are definitely truly old school, which is really cool. But I learned something important with that purchase, just because something’s old school and made to its original standard doesn’t mean it’s made to a better standard. They are really flexy compared to converse 70s and don’t have as good a shape to fit a foot as 70s IMO. 70s also just feel more solid of a shoe in a way. But the USRs are strong shoes they just don’t feel as rigid, kind of like they are a lighter weight and thinner shoe. Overall I think I still like 70s better but I wish 70s were a little better made still, and I especially wish converse as a company had better ethics.

I just got rid of a pair. Because they were worn out. I bought them years ago when they very first opened back then they were called Colchester Rubber. They claimed they were designed and based off the very first basketball shoes made by a rubber factory called Colchester. It was a real shoe maker no idea if the story is true or not. Honestly they were the most comfortable shoe in that style I’ve ever owned. The rubber is soft though so they wear kind of quickly. The one issue with them. But so comfortable and super stylish. They were black canvas and brown rubber. Since they switched over the company to US Rubber not sure if they are as well made.

Quilted down lining with a canvas shell is the superior combination. You might like the Patagonia hooded canvas work jacket. That's a good one and the chest pockets are the best design I've ever used.

Huckberry’s actually how I discovered Lems footwear. So I was delighted when Rose Anvil covered it last year! Not a huge fan of Western wear, but definitely dig Huckberry for their heritage and workwear lines and footwear. And I’d love to see that vintage/thrift shopping video. I’ve found many second hand Red Wings and Doc Martens (yeah, I know, I know lol) in great condition! But I’m including the made in England stuff! Sometimes these second shops don’t know what they have and mark down the prices waay low!

Would love to see more of this! Lots of neat goodies here, great inspiration. Brands I've not heard of. Unfortunately, mostly out of my budget, but certainly items I'm interested in nonetheless. Not sure I want to convince you to chop any of that footwear in half, lol. I'd rather be wearing it! Ah, but what else is this channel for if not looking at shoe guts! What makes those shoes/boots worth $400?!
@WhiteVaille2 ай бұрын
Also would love seeing garment teardowns, but at the same time, I feel like a fair bit of the construction process of clothing can be gleaned without disassembly. And then, if you don't have factory and production experience, it might not be worth the effort for an uninformed opinion. So, while I wouldn't mind your thoughts on garments, I don't expect your channel to actually tear them down. On that note, I /just/ discovered the channel 'shiftfashiongroup' tonight that does all that. Very neat stuff!

I was a year round commercial fisherman for years, all I wore was rubber boots. I didn't know dick about boots or what makes a good or bad boot. I learned it all from this channel. I have a carpentry/land lover job now and a small collection of a few pairs of danners, couple pairs of whites and currently waiting for Russel moccasin to restock. My point??? Because of this Chanel I feel more secure spending money on footwear. So absolutely yes please get into mens work wear, blue and white collar stuff

If this is representative of the quality and style of clothing you are considering reviewing, I’m all for seeing some of that. Buying blind online is always a risk and I’m always interested in less mainstream brands that make quality casual wear. I’m way past having any desire for trendy brands, I want stuff I love that will last.

Chambray is not stretch or polyester. It is a cotton plain weave fabric that looks similar to denim. Just lighter. Polyester and spandex is too clothes as injection foam is too boots. It's a way to save money and ensure it falls apart. I know you won't read this, but it's out there.
