Don't destroy yourself in Lake Placid. It's your training session for Kona. Like you said, "The peak comes in October". Love it. Listening to you speak is bringing out the 2017 Kona vibes. You have no idea how many people you're going to make cry if you win Kona. Wishing you all the best.

Never let another athletes training get in your head. A Belgium newspaper wrote a nice article about it in 2019. It's called Stravanoia.

Hey Lionel and Talbot. Love the content and the open honest thoughts I’ve been following the channel since the days up in Windsor. This is totally unrelated but It looked like you might not have a fence around your pool at you house and seeing your amazing little guy out there freaked me out. I am a fire captain in Arizona and have seen so many unfortunate outcomes with little ones and unfenced pools here in our state. I know you guys are amazing parents and by no means am I trying to preach to you nor would I try and tell anyone how to parent their children. Just something that may not be in the forefront of your mind coming from a place that doesn’t have many pools and drowning cases. Wish you all the best with training and your lovely family!

12:00- what happened between St George and Kona in 2022? From the outside looking in one thing stood out to me at the time (sure there were a bunch of other stuff that none of us KZbin tuber fans would have the first clue about). In my view - having raced an ironman once a month since June 2021 to November AND the ‘2021’ WC p[postponed to May 2022, it did not seem to me that you had a proper ‘end of season’ full body shut down for 2-4 weeks. THAT is what you needed to do for the rest of May 2022, then start to rebuild from ‘ground zero’ in June (ie. do the pre season stuff you’d usually do in October-Nov the year before before your traditional ‘first race’ of the next year at Indian Wells. I think you got carried away with a combination of ‘the Norwegian method’ (especially thinking ‘well Gustavo and Kristian aren’t having a break, why should I’) and the fact that the PTO were debuting their three big money races (PTO Open canada and USA and also the 2nd edition of the Collins Cup). Compounding that was the dilemma of yet another scoring Arizona summer and doing your first ‘altitude block’ at Flagstaff: put a fork in you, you were cooked! In hindsight (lols), a month off then indoor training at home for 6-8 weeks, followed by an altitude camp at say Boulder for 3 weeks in August would have set you yourself up for a perfect 8 week Kona specific preparation at the back end. Of course that would have meant doing the Canadian Open as an ‘early season race’ - in only ‘early season’ form and probably skipping both the Collins Cup and the US Open, but you would have been tip top by Kona in October.

The 2022 Kona was such a disappointment. The training under Iden was clearly excellent. But Lionel and I think it was Gustav, Colin Chartier and VonBerg decided to actually race Kona a few days before in their training session. VonBerg decided to drop out. And Lionel let the drug cheat Chartier get into his head. Thankfully that parasite is gone. But the lesson is you always race within your own mind and on that day. Visualization is extremely important. But letting others control your thoughts isn’t. And of course, after Kona Lionel threw the entire baby out with the bath water. Fired his coach and quit IM. And pointing this out on his Discord channel got me banned by one of his woke moderators who was crying about “negative language”. The last year it looks like his focus is back with some real attention to detail. Oceanside and MT were very good races. Now it’s time to see where’s he’s at for IM. Hope he stays injury free and has a great day. Always wishing you the best Lionel. You probably have no real idea how many people you’ve inspired to doing things they never dreamed.
