On this link...kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJvImnxomJiMgrs It shows you how to use the non-vacumn model, you can also do this with the regular model. You Zip them Almost closed, then roll them up like a 'tight burrito' then seal them. Btw, in full disclosure....if i was ever pulled over by Amber, i wouldn't really mind her putting handcuffs on me....in fact, i may even try to resist a little ; )) Haha I hope you guys are having Fun!! Hello! I just came across your female solo traveler video and then went on to this one b/c I've also been watching a lot of minimalist packing vids- didn't take long to realize this isn't one of those lol but you are engaging and fun to watch. That NZ does indeed have tampons has been covered, but furthermore from what I saw there they only have the o.b. type- no applicator. I'm all about this b/c of the minimalist/no-waste aspect; they take up so much less space! But not everyone is into them. Also be warned that under NO circumstances should you flush any part of your tampons down the toilet. They have some neat receptacles for them in the restrooms, nicer than the hinged metal boxes we have in the US. I was really impressed by the public toilets in NZ in general, they seemed very orderly & some were high-tech! I'm talking about you, bathroom in Picton that played music to time my usage.
@heyshayla
@heyshayla 6 жыл бұрын
Hahah I love the ob tampons as well. I tried to keep it minimal but I think I leaned a little too heavily on the space we’ll have in the van 😅

Cool! I would recommend going on a boat trip to some of the small islands east of the big island. Korovou was my favorite, we went snorkeling and saw manta rays that were 20 ft wide! There was also a cool hiking trail and we went on a boat to a local village that had been partially destroyed by bad monsoon that year and it was really eye opening to see how they lived. It's a bit more expensive but Bounty Island was awesome, the staff was so nice and you can walk around the island in less than an hour. Sunsets and sunrises were unreal! They have a few turtle ponds of baby sea turtles they are raising until theyre old enough to be released. Treasure Island is a short boat ride away and they have even more turtles! (I helped build some of Treasure's turtle ponds on my volunteer trip). Treasure is too expensive to stay at though, Bounty at least had dorm style rooms. I stayed with a host family in a village on Viti Levu, in the Lutu province (town called Lutu). If you can get a chance to meet any locals you won't regret it, Fijian culture is SO FRIENDLY. Bula means 'hello' and literally everyone you pass will wave and say Bula. Vinaka is thank you and vinaka vaka levu is thank you very much. Most Fijians speak english but Bula and vinaka are words you will say so many times a day. And if any locals offer you food, you should take it! If you're in Nadi or Suva, look out for people trying to scam tourists. Kava is a ceremonial drink that Fijians drink all of the time instead of alcohol, it tastes gross but makes your entire mouth numb and really mellows you out. People will try to sell it to you, do not drink it in any shops because they will upcharge the crap out of it. If you can befriend any locals while on an island or wherever you're staying, they might be making it themselves and you should try it. If you fly into Nadi and need a place to stay, the Nadi Island Resort (it's a hostel) is SO cute and interesting. I think it's a 20 min walk to the beach? ALSO! One Fijian dollar = .50 cents, however everything is twice as 'expensive' as it would be in america so prices are pretty much the same because of that. Like, I remember buying a pretty nice lunch for $16 in Fijian, and it was pretty comparable to $8 USD

fairlyclaire Thank you so so much! I will definitely research all of that. It sounds like an amazing place. Did you come across any dolphins while there? 😁🙈 How much time would you recommend for a visit that includes to discover places plus a day or two for relaxation? Again, thank you so incredibly much for all the tips. :)

Can you show us shoes next time please? I'm looking for shoes that are comfortable to walk around during the day, maybe suitable for night time, and then sandals that are also good for any time of day. My ideal sandal will have arch support and are danceable, like if I want to bust a move in the middle of the street. Also, have you ever considered using a menstrual cup instead of having to worry about packing tampons? I started using one and I'm still learning how to be leak proof but I like it a lot!

lol I was going to respond to her throwing the best top away and then I was like let me finish the video. Then she starts saying all kinds of innuendo stuff and I'm like man I have to make a list. The reason why they have to have so many shoes or just articles of clothing in general is that they plan for looking good for all possibilities while traveling and being the emotional creatures that they are, their range of possibilities that are considered "important to look good at" like going to the beach or just sitting on the porch, do not pertain to us men. Whereas guys don't care. We have our dirty getting things done outfit, our going to dinner or nice place outfit, then our casual outfit for general purpose, and we buy shoes to fit at least one or more category. I think the only time I ever splurge is when its a fancy evening event, like a corporate outing, ceremony, or some ultra chic shin dig. Then and only then do I break out the nicest silk suit or tux.
