My favorite player of all time. This was a guy that could take ass beating after ass beating from every elite defense and still show up every Sunday, doing what he loved the most. When Favre went on to the field, he played his heart out and left everything on that field. There wasn't a more entertaining quarterback around to watch, growing up. Favre is the reason fell in love with football and in my eyes will always be one of the greats.

Now if he won 3 or 4 Super Bowls instead of MVPs, then he’d be in the conversations of the best but the MVP awards aren’t on the same level as rings are. Getting rings is the ultimate goal. If I were in his shoes and it was my call, I would swap out the MVP awards for rings. I’d do it in a heartbeat.

When people say that Starr is the greatest Packers QB ever I beg to differ as a GB fan, Favre brought greatness back to Green Bay, before Favre we were in a 20 year drought, after him we've been a playoff/Championship team every year for 20+ years, that's greatness.
@CrysisOwnsHalo
@CrysisOwnsHalo 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah about the last part, although that can mostly be attributed to Aaron Rodgers and a playmaking defense.
@1perfectstrangerr

Before Starr, GB had not had a wining season in 11 years... they were on the verge of dismantling the team and folding... Under Starr, GB went on to win 5 titles in a 7 year span, including a 3-peat....{They came within one play of doing it twice......} They were a true dynasty and the team of the 60's. Favre's Packers were a good team in the mix every year but by no means a dynasty.... ONE ring was all he could muster... should have won 4....I'll take Starr's 5 rings over Favre's one ring any day...

Man, he was my favorite Quarterback growing up as a kid. The main reason I love football so much even today I know people re going to say how he isn't worth rank 20, but he basically took a beaten and didn't have good teams like Peyton manning, or another quarterback.

I love Brett Favre. He’s a top 10 quarterback in my mind. However, I’d say those late ‘90s Packer teams were better than most Peyton Manning’s Colts teams. Brett Favre had good coaching, defenses, and a great cast. Peyton had good receivers, but the coaching was a rollercoaster and he had some rough defenses. I’d say Peyton is better.
@1terraforce
@1terraforce 6 жыл бұрын
Michael Neyman late 90s teams? No, mid 90s team (94-97) yes! Outside of that, Favre didn't have a lot. 94-97 packs were great on both sides of the ball, but outside of that they've had just as bad of defenses and coaching as colts did in the manning era, and manning played in the AFC south which has been a cheesey division for a long time! Manning has always had a better supporting cast in every position on offense, with the exception of rb, then what Favre has had and manning had it for much longer. Not saying manning isn't better, but he's never had to struggle with consistent playmakers. I will say manning is better only because he studied it so much where as Favre treated it like backyard football

My first football jersey was a Brett Favre #4 jersey. The packers also won the Super Bowl when I was born. January 26th 1997. I liked the packers because of their colors when I was younger. Then I switched to the panthers because all my neighborhood buddies liked the panthers. In the end, I’m a native San Diegan and the chargers are my team whether I like it or not but boy do I still love that green and gold.

I'm a raider fan but I always had the utmost respect for farve. Derek Carr is farve reborn

should be much lower. Yes, he had many passing records when he retired, but he also did them with the most INTs.

Not only that, but he multiple season ending soul crushing interceptions to Dawkins, Webster, and Porter. Favre doesn't take as much criticism as he should for those season ending soul crushing interceptions.

Those records really didn't hold up well. It's been just over a decade and he lost most of them first to Manning, then Brees, then Brady. But he'll hold the INT record forever. No way a modern coach would survive putting up with that.

To me he was one of those guys that if he was playing you just had to watch.Michael Vick ,Randall Cunningham,Barry Sanders,Randy Moss etc....Some players seem to command your attention whether you were a fan of them or their team that just had that much excitement in the way they played the game. Brett Favre is one of those guys for sure.

Having seen the list, I'd have to put favre further up the list... I don't know how much more of an embodiment of the NFL a player could be. I would have slid him in at #9 or up to #4 depends on personal preference... For me, looking at credentials and play and just feels #4 should have been at #4
