Just want to say thank you as I have seen those inexpensive carb rebuild kits on the internet so bad it will be better to just purchase the more reputable kit so your not leaking and potentially catching bike on fire, this bike of yours has done a big turnaround it shows as you work on bikes more your experience and finished products look amazing…

Dude I also bought an eBay carb rebuild kit and it suucked. I had the opposite problem, the jets and rubber clogged and didn't give my engine any fuel... Luckily I just replaced the original parts and all is well.

Hi mate I'm in simular suitu. When petcock is on , both outlets pour fuel , good. When I go to res Fuel only out of 1 outlet ,leaving 2cylinders dry . $20 petcock. Any idea. ?

Plug the one petcock fuel outlet and see if fuel starts coming out of the other one instead.

I have a question on your carbs. Have you checked the synchronization? With it being rich one the left side I would suspect that side is opening slightly slower that the right. I would highly recommend checking the balance before doing other work on the carbs. As far as your issue with those cheap needle and seats, I always go back to the OE parts for those. Even the "better" aftermarket kits seem to be of lesser quality. I will use the soft parts out of aftermarket kits, but jets and needle parts, I want OE. That old girl is coming around nicely! Any idea what you're going to do for the next project?

Agreed. Check the valves first for proper clearance than sync the carbs

I'm one step ahead of you Larry! I already ordered a carb synchronizer and I will be doing that in a future video! I did bench synch the carbs but it seems like that might not have been very accurate. Thanks for your great ideas!

I bought a 1977 Kawasaki kz400 and turned it into a cafe racer. I’ve paid people to get it running and they take my money but it’s never what it should be. They got it running but it idles too high, still take my money though. Last guy took the carbs apart and didn’t put them back together, didn’t charge me but told me to come pick it up. I did, I put the tops of the carbs in my truck and the truck was stolen!! I’m about to give up.
