whenever I do a flying warrior my hips kind tilt out/upwards is that okay or should i actively try to tilt towards the ground?

Nothing wrong with having your hips tilt upwards slightly- but it may be easier to find your balance with your hips pointing down due to the distribution of weight being more balanced. Try both ways and see what works best for you :)
