20 years of being A CLUB FITTER and I didn’t know this about FACE BALANCED PUTTERS!

In today's video, we're explaining the misconception of face balanced putters! I myself have been guilty of misguiding people into what I thought were face balanced putters, as most golf pro's and retailers are trained to believe a face balanced putter, balances square to the sky!

I read somewhere that somewhere in the 60+ percent of golfers require some arc. I tried a face-balanced Yes! Carolyne over a decade ago. I didn't realize I was opening the face naturally through my takeaway, and by allowing the club to come through on its own, it stayed open. I missed away all the time and keeping the face square was nearly impossible. I'm not saying that everyone needs this though. I currently play a TM toe-hang forgiving mallet (Ardmore 3 with slant neck) and it's been a great move. I need it to rotate but some stability at impact would be appreciated.

I have a straight back and through stroke and have a plumb neck, double bend and centre shaft putter.....if I'm honest I put decent with all of them. What is important to me is what I feel comfortable with, the plumb neck blade just looks better to me even though it isn't suited to my stroke.

Got mine off the shelf without the fitting! From one of the big box golf store in Canada. I just liked the concept. I am doing well with it but I wonder if I chose the right Seemore putter for me!

i mean i hate to debunk his theory, but at 2:18 hes not supporting the putter at all, he just lets it fall and the face opens. then at 2:47 hes holding the putter in a way that it wont let the face open, he didnt do it in the same way he held the first putter. so that to me doesnt tell me anything. i would like to think the second putters face would also open slightly like the first putter did.

Interesting concept but feels more like a sales pitch - my Scottie is a wonderful club and don’t intend to swap it soon. Putting on the shoulder isn’t how I put and holding my putter even lightly doesn’t seem to cause it to rotate in the slightest? As for being milled in USA that seems a gimmick and although I’d be very careful buying a model mass produced in China I’m sure many putter brands have good enough milling. I still think that putter selection is a choice made from many different things and what appeals to one golfer doesn’t feel right in another golfers hands. It will be interesting to see what you select and whether it dramatically affects you’re putting but as always an interesting video Gary 👍🏌️⛳️

All I want people to take from this video, is if they’re in the market for a face balanced putter, to check how it sits at impact, as for many years, I’ve thought a face balanced putter to the sky was face balanced at impact. I putted great with my Scotty at the weekend, the new one arrives tomorrow. I did enjoy the simplicity of the setup and balance of the club, but I guess the results will be the test. Thanks

Almost I'd say, but not quite. I think that the Seemores in this video slightly open on takeaway and then close a little to get back square at impact. They don't stay square to the path through all of the stroke. What made me go for a L.A.B. MezzMax was these Seemores are quite unforgiving when you don't hit the middle. The difficulty with LABs is that you need to completely re-learn how to grip the club, because you should apply zero manipulation. Took me quite a couple of sessions to learn to trust the putter head doing the job for you. But I don't think I'll go back to another putter again.

You must take the clubhead acceleration into account. The clubhead isn't still at impact, it is accelerating down the swing path. If you have a short rapid stroke the acceleration g-force will straighten a face balanced head before impact, more so if the weight is further back in the clubhead. If you have a long slower accelerating arc the g-force is acting more outward making a toe heavy putter more stable. At least that is how I se it, I could be wrong. Continuing this thought process, a short fast stroke makes a facebalanced putter straighter at the cost of distance control, versus a slower accelerating long arc toe heavy putter having better distance control at the cost of directional precision. Which is more important, precision or distance control?

Been using the SeeMore now for 8 years - I will never part with it ... I fitted myself on their website- dropped 3 to 4 stokes a round easy with it... My putter is the Original FGP Milled ss303 ...

I've made more 1 putts with my seemore than any other- in fact I sold my other putters ... I ordered my Seemore on line using their fitting guide - trust that alignment aid on the putter.....

Face Balancing is a COMPLETE MYTH. If you "balance" the face and the putter body is not balanced there is no balance. The body of the putter holds the majority of the weight of the club. If you don't balance the complete putter (body + face) the putter is NOT balanced.
