As team member at that time - I was the tire tech - I can tell you that this remains the highlight of most of the team members racing careers. We beat Audi on their home turf. If you watch the last pit stop at 1:17:48 there is a Michelin tire tech on the left with a goatee - That is Donny Wilson and he was responsible for that win as much as anyone else - he made great calls for tires that day and it enabled us to win.

I agree! This had to be the Roadster S greatest victory! And thank you for your brilliant work Tonto! Doc Panoz baby will be forever my all time favorite race car, the GT40 is second of course. I miss these days when I was young and the racing was fun! Cheers to an American team that beat the best!

What a great memory that must be...I went to to the first Petit Le Man in '98 because a vendor of mine gave me free tickets, and wasn't even aware of what sportscar racing was. But the sights, the sounds, especially those of the thundering Panoz Roadsters, was something truly unique to behold. And I was absolutely hooked. I go back and watch all Panoz' victories periodically, and marvel at what a truly herculean feat that that little team from Braselton, GA pulled off consistently, with none bigger than this one, beating the huge German teams in their own back yard.

Been waiting 15 years to see this race. Read about it in LeMans magazine in 2000. Go Panoz!

Thank you for not deleting this channel! ALMS is not around anymore but it was a good series, I attended Portland!

Yes we do. One problem is the tapes have no commentators for the Silverstone broadcast. We will digitize those tapes and have it up soon.

We have ALMS in the title since this is the ALMS channel. It's consistent with our naming system for all of our videos. This was part of the 2000 ALMS schedule, even though they raced under the ELMS title.

Thanks again for the great uploads of previous races. I'm hoping to maybe see the other European rounds: Silverstone 2000, Donington 2001, and Jarama 2001. I wouldn't necessarily expect it, but would be quite happy to see the other ELMS rounds from 2001 as well: Estoril, Most, and Vallelunga.

now we learn - the Newey designed Panoz tracked best in the wet - which entirely makes sense and has always been known - no one mentioned this when the car was introduced - the GTR1 I saw twice and I think can still hear today - I hope that was not a lesser engine note than LMP1, which I didn't experience

Can you also upload the 2000 ELMS Silverstone race? that was the race I could not watch back then, which I've always dreamt of seeing. The only thing I remember from the news was the Rafanelli Lola was on pole. I was happy because they were a privateer! I was 15 years old. I would really appreciate to see that race. Thanks so much for uploading these. =)
