I come from future. The track now has three in 2020 because of a Global Pandemic. Lots of paranoid people here outside the sports world. That’s where we are.

crazy watching this race, knowing how it ends, yet with about 20 to go Craven and Busch are barely even in the picture we all remember the drag race at the end, but it's so easy to forget just how crazy the lead-up was -- Sadler and Gordon battling for the win, then suddenly Busch gets by them, then out of nowhere Craven, Junior, even Blaney have a legitimate chance to win . . . absolute madness all the way to the legendary finish

It's cool to see Kurt smiling after this race. He finished second, hates to lose like his brother Kyle. Yet he knows that was one of the greatest finishes ever, and he was a part of it

This finish, along with the 1995 Goody's 500 and the 2012 Watkins Glen race, prove you don't need a late race caution to have a great finish.

I would also put the Bristol race in 1999 with Dale pushing Labonte out of the way. That was a great finish as well.

Busch could've driven off with 20 to go, and it's still one of the greatest races ever. If he didn't miss pit road under green around halfway, then he doesn't lose multiple positions and likely restarts in the lead instead of Gordon with 100 to go. Junior and Mark dominated, and both of them were right there with Blaney at the end. Even Michael was right behind, and he never led a lap and started last. This was a race of survival, won entirely on merit. Craven drove perfect all day, managed his tires better than everyone else, while still making positions. This race had everything, and nothing since has compared.

@@mitchcolburn1216 It would have been super cool to see Blanket get that win, since he had not ended up winning a race in his career, but then that means Craven would not have won and Pontiac would not have gotten their last win in such a glorious way.
