I did that to a jeep grand cherokee. It can be done on some models without pulling the whole box but requires a hole dremmeled in and then sealed with aluminum duct tape after. cutting into the box is the scariest part. I was looking at a 2005 to purchase. A/c works fine. When turned to heat, it is hot on passenger side, outdoor temp on drivers side. Good video, it looks like this is engineered to be real difficult.

Follow up. Looked at a 2002 with a relative, same issue. He wound up buying it. You won't find a vehicle that age for a low price without flaws.

That's actually the re-circulation door, not a blend door. I know you know that, but others may not. Great vid though!

You may need to try different wifi channels on ur router. If too many local routers use same channels signsls will remane weak.

Hey...I have an 03 Laramie. ..I have a noise like something is moving, and it sounds and feels like it's right behind the 4x4 control knob....when it starts it just does it non stop...any ideas on what it could be? The fan motor has no affect, but i do have to have the fan off or it wont switch from defrost to floor...im guessing thats a huge clue.I had the fan.motor out and it's no where near that...its in the center somewhere....thx

Probably a stepper motor controlling air flow to vents. I couldn't say for sure since I'm not there

Response is late but it may be helpful to some one... that is a Recirculate door not the temp blend door. Common issue that door breaks off at the hinge and lays on top of the blower motor. Customer concern is normally something like "I can hear the blower blowing but no air is coming out".

That is not the blend door. That is the recirculate door. The blend door blends the air between zones. Two totally different things.

Totally unnecessary to remove the dash or cut anything. Remove the 3 blower motor bolts and remove the blower motor. Remove the glovebox without tools by squeezing the sides and remove the actuator and use a flat head screwdriver to pry off white plastic piece. The RECIRCULATION (not blend) door can be fed through the blower motor cavity, then reattach the actuator. It doesn't matter what position the door is in because the computer will reset the position automatically.

Is this the cause of no heat? I have a 2002 1500 that the AC will freeze you out, but the heat is a no go. I have flushed the heater core and still have the same issue.

On my 05 3500 you pull 3 screws and motor comes out reach up and flip the door around and it falls out. Don’t have to cut anything.

Yes but you need to replace it because the passenger side will be warmer that the driver side

What are the symptoms of this being broken? My 2004 dodge ram suddenly won't go to defrost, i can't direct air at the windsheild no matter what I do (I guess I'm not positive that it will go to the other positions either, haven't tested it yet).

Symptoms are your AC is not blowing hard enough. It still blows cold but it doesn’t blow hard then your door is blowing off or broken off and letting in hot air from the outside. That’s no good

I do body for a living, and when I read "blend door" my mind goes directly to paint, and then I read replacement I got cornfoosed. I guess the service department is right, I'm a 240 pound gorilla who lays drywall putty on cars lol. Keep up this kind of content, it's fucking great

Ike brother get a wifi booster ..i think they make them for your phone ...it just plugs in like the charger does ...i have a jeep grand cherokee and my heat doesn't seem to always go where the indicator says it's suppost to ..i mean it goes but it feels like it's in a mix or blend instead of directly to the floor or defrost etc ...ya reckon i may have the same issue with the blend door hangin up ?

they have blend door problems too. if you had any work done on your cooling system it might need bleeding or your low on coolant also.
