I love when I see Richmond races from this Era because from 2001-2013 I went to every spring Richmond race with a friend of mine.We bought a little pop-up and stayed in the yard of a house right across the street at a guy named George who was a truck driver.Lots of good memories and was great because it was a Saturday night race I can't believe they changed that.

Peter Sospenzo's last win as a Cup crew chief until July 7, 2019 when he won with Justin Haley at Daytona, a race that was also rain shortened.

Looks like Matt Kenseth's team brought out one of Matt's old hoods, because most of the time Matt drove with a yellow hood in 2003, it was likely the car he won Richmond with the previous year in 2002.

Interestingly, Joe Nemechek drove for three Multi-car operations Sabco, HMS, and MB2 and Joe won with all of them. I felt like Joe was a better Busch competitor than he was a Cup driver and won the Busch title in 1992 but to win with all three organizations in Cup, that is pretty good for a career like his. And Joe was a pretty good qualifier. Not sure if he will make the Hall of Fame but he does have one Busch championship but not many Cup wins.

Make it 4 different multi-car Cup teams. He won with Andy Petree at Rockingham in 2001. I was surprised that he won 16 Busch races.

Matt Kenseth had a 20 point lead after this race which was the closest anyone got to Matt in the points standings that year while he had the lead

Isn't it ironic that Nadeau was driving a Pontiac?

After 15 years, this would be the last time the first Richmond race would be sponsored by Pontiac.

Jack spraque was a weapon in this race. A rather entertaining race. Jimmy Spencer hit that wall hard! I always liked the 7 cars paint scheme. Mongo

Blimey, I didn't realise Keller jumped in Nadeau's car after his big crash? I thought it was Mike Wallace or something.
@ravex246 жыл бұрын
Mike Wallace was one of the guys to drive the 01 car after Richmond, until Joe Nemechek took it over, so I can see why you thought that.

I wonder why Harvick spun Green.
@christophermillsap5064 Жыл бұрын
Harvick got up to speed a bit quicker while Green was more hesitant during the contact between Ward Burton and Ryan Newman. Plus, they were rivals in the Busch series and didn’t exactly have the camaraderie to have a functioning teammate relationship.
