2003 Volvo XC90 Part 22 - Anti-skid service required message #2

It was time to resume chasing down the cause of the "anti-skid service required" message that has been plaguing me since I bought the XC90. I was still getting the same error codes (ABS0094 & CEM1A64). My scantool pointed towards a post on a Volvo forum which gave a possible cause being the pins in the ABS module being loose. I decided to buy a used ABS module on ebay for only £22 delivered. Unfortunately, fitting the replacement module didn't make any difference. I've also had problems with the ABS light coming on after about half a mile of driving. This will be addressed on the next Volvo video.

I don't think the ABS module is the problem. There's a Volvo specialist in Tilbury in Essex that will know for certain.

Disconnect and clean and reconnect every abs connection you can find. 👍

It was a faulty DEM module that was the problem.

I can buy a 2008 150k lux se with intermittent anti skid error. Very short mot but clean. 2nd last mot states heavy enderseal front to rear axles. 1400? Should I or??? Fsh btw

I can't tell you either way. You need to get yourself in front of the vehicle and bring somebody knowledgable with you. Test drive it if you can. The FSH is a good thing as it has had some TLC. 150K is nothing for a Volvo. Mine has just gone past 160K.

I had the same error but mine ended up being a brake sensor foot pedal sensor ... it was a $250 part a little tubular sensor slides into a around tube fitting fixed it straightaway hope that helps -Andrew

It was the DEM. I ended up having to get a reconditioned DEM because my old one was beyond repair.

Getting the same messages on 2008 p2 v70 t5, sporadicly or if wheel spin ? can start back car up and no messages ? cleaned abs ring on drivers front .Still there .Hope you get it sorted . Did notice hub bolt was loose and forgot to nip it up so i will do that now actually.

I've had confirmation that it is the rear diff module (DEM) that is the problem. I'm gonna live with it for now.

Hey you need Vida to match the new module, and its only volvo dealer who can help you with that. You can buy a Vida volvo diagnostic tool self, but its expensive. Good luck :D

I've got the Vida software on a virtual Windows 7 installation. Somebody on a Volvo forum offered me the DiCE hardware. My scantool can do most stuff but I agree that Vida is the best one.

It isn't the steering angle sensor that's the problem.

@@Parknest it will still work Cambus is a pain in the rear I get error messages on my volvo I find turning left and right a couple of times a few start stops and it's okay again. Also check the axle bolts 😏..
