​@@griffzillagaragenah I don't think you should change the title I think it comes up appropriately during a search is the way I found it anyway. But I've dropped many bolts of that pick up tube many times into oil pans and I could fish them out good with the magnet. One time I tried my best with the magnet and I couldn't find it so I just hooked up the magnet extension on my camera and it was almost to the very front of the pan lol how it bounced like that I don't know but the camera with the magnet attachments is very very valuable and they're very inexpensive.

Glad it helped you out. I wouldn’t worry too much about the plastic. If it’s really bothering you, you can take a camera scope in conjunction with one of those long grabber tools, and pick those out. It’s not gonna hurt anything with those sitting at the bottom of the pan though. Would definitely appreciate if you would share the channel to help it grow.

If you're wanting to replace/upgrade the oil pump, do you need to do a timing job after? Its not a must, just wanting to increase the longevity of my expedition.

I’m of the mindset that if you don’t know the history of the timing chain, you should always replace the chain and its components while you’re there if you had to remove them. If you haven’t already; I’d really appreciate if you would subscribe and help grow with the channel. Thanks.

How much should it cost for a macanic charge to change out an install the oil pump??

Just depends on the shop. It’s about 15 hours labor. I charge $150 an hour. So I’d be at $2250 in labor plus parts. Please keep in mind that shops are going to mark up parts in addition to the labor. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Go to auto zone or similar and get a Haynes repair manual. There’s also a channel called FordTechMakuloco and he has a lot of awesome videos on the modular engines

Can that pick up tube fall in pan? No one ever mentions that. I would change it to with my chain job, but am fried if it drops I can't take oil pan off on ground to much for me.

If I remember correctly, the pick up tube will not fall. I think it was secured another way. Even if you drop those bolts, with a long magnet, you can grab those and pull them out. I think you can do it just fine; Eye of the tiger man!

The 4.6 and the 5.4 3 valve are one of Ford's worst v8 engines no question. But Dodge? I'd take a Ford, Chevy or a Toyota before touching that dog sh!t.

@@devonteforeman I respect that. But I’ll double down with the simplicity of the Cummins 5.9, with a simple EGR delete. Not to mention the added joy of seeing the faces of those leading the charge of the “go green” movement looking appalled as they hold back their tears & choke thru the large blast of Prius repellent I so generously shower on them. I really appreciate any support and help growing my channel.

@@griffzillagarage I think your biggest issue right now is you need to invest in better equipment. If you want to compete in this space you need to provide high fidelity audio and video with proper lighting and tripods.

@@devonteforeman It’s hard as a 1 man show and single family income w/2 kids. Just editing the videos is a time consuming job, not to mention I taught myself how to edit. On the plus side I’ve made some huge strides lover the past 9 months. More importantly I’ve been able to help quite a few people. All in Gods time my friend. Really appreciate you taking the time to check out the channel.
