I owned a 2003 Vue 4 cyl with a 5 spd manual. One of the most reliable vehicles I have owned. It got me through 3 years of college (doing college kid things) and my 1st job as a graduate. I think the 0-60 in 3 days also prevented me from getting into much trouble LOL

Zack, the way you said "front wheel drive" at the beginning, like as if it didn't offer AWD. You can get them in AWD.

That was a Single Disc CD player, no changer, it would require a second DIN space to accommodate the changer mechanism.

My cousin had one with 335k miles, a 2004 AWD model with the Honda J35. Had to scrap it because the subframe rotted out after being in Michigan for 20 years. He replaced it with a Durango and said it's the most unreliable POS ever made! My grandpa also has a Vue, a 2006 model, FWD also with the J35, 240k and the subframe is starting to rot. Once in a while, GM actually does something good.

I learned to drive on a 2003 Saturn Vue! It was a base model with no options except AC. The 2.2 ecotec was fine. I had that same engine in a Pontiac Grand Am later. Crank windows, manual locks. If I needed in the trunk when my mom dropped me off I had to get the key from her and run around and unlock it myself. The seats seemed to stain whenever someone farted in the car.

Check out that VUE!! See what I did there😏😂. I have a few 1/18 scale models of the VUE, and would love to a full size redline at some point! I also have the gauges out of the Redline model in my SL2! Thanks for filming these awesome Saturns for us to see!

GM and Ford just want to build big SUVs. They don't want to make small cars and SUVs as those are less profitable. They think people only want big SUVs.

The 4 cylinders had CVT the 6 Cylinder had either a 4or5 speed auto.
@engineer_alvАй бұрын
@@Drknnja It's more complicated than that. The V6 FWD and AWD only came with the 5 spd auto. The 4 cyl FWD had a 5 spd manual, with an optional CVT for 2002-2004 and 4 spd auto for 2005-2007 MY. AWD was also optional on the 4 cyl from 2002-2005 but came std with the CVT.

@tyo8223Ай бұрын
Had one, it was very noisy inside, the shifter pod took away knee space, and the front armrests sucked, got rid of it after a year.
@ccroy2001Ай бұрын
If you're used to vehicles of that era you can safely go down a size category as modern vehicles keep growing. I bought a Sentra b/c it's roughly the size an Altima or Camry used to be. I had a 2010 Ford Escape and the new Bronco Sport is almost the same dimensions as my old Escape, while the modern Escape is noticeably bigger. I like that Vue better than the later Rounder one. Just a box on wheels for doing everyday things.

Honestly i know I’ll get hate; the Saturn Vue was based on the Aztek platform. Honestly over the years, I prefer the Aztek more and more than this… Fun fact they also made a hybrid for 2 years of this generation
@engineer_alvАй бұрын
no it wasn't. The Vue debuted the much newer Theta platform (shared with the Equinox) with independent rear suspension, while the Aztek used the U-platform from the contemporary Venture minivan. It also had a torsion beam at the rear. The Buick Rendezvous was the Aztek platform-mate. Honestly you are not giving up much interior space going from an Aztek to a Vue, despite the former being the larger vehicle.

Why were 2-wheel drive SUVs allowed to be sold? Thought they should all be either AWD or 4WD.
@drewzero1Ай бұрын
Because people wanted minivans, but didn't want to _look_ like they were driving minivans. Note that (like most minivans) this is a car-based crossover rather than a truck-based SUV, though two-wheel-drive trucks and SUVs do exist as well.
@bwofficial1776Ай бұрын
Depending on where you live, not everyone needs AWD. FWD is perfectly adequate if you don't get inclement weather often. And even then, FWD with snow tires can give very good performance. Most sedans have been FWD for the last few decades and there have been no complaints.
@paulm6481Ай бұрын
Unfortunately GM comes up with cool idea (solid small cars and SUVs and no haggle pricing) and then gives up after spending all that money on brand and new vehicle and factory and goes cheap and badge engineers and then kills brand. Typical GM 🤦♂️
@davinpАй бұрын
Saturn was not supposed similar to GM's other brands. GM would use cheap hard plastics in their other brands.
@drewzero1Ай бұрын
By the early 2000s that separation was starting to fade, and the Vue ended up sharing a lot with the Equinox.
