2005 Scion TC trunk hatch latch mechanism won't open with actuator and how to fix it 2007 repair

Hi would you have any idea why my noise sensor stays on when the hatches closed

Not offhand. Not sure what that sensor indicates that.

I think I have the same issue , the trunk sounds like it unlocks when I push the button but does not budge when pulled on , was that how it was prior to you fixing it ?

Yeah. I just opened up the trim and undid the 3 bolts which allowed me to move the lock mechanism and see the problem. When I fixed my 3rd brake light, I lost a nut inside, and that's where it landed.

@@johnobeidin7296 hey so I'm about to get the part for my scion so my question is once I replace the part the new part should work just like the old one meaning I should be able to use the door button to unlock the trunk or the key right? Or do I have to take it to the dealer ship to Re program the key?

Did you pull off the panel off while the trunk was shut?

Yeah, at least somewhat I couldn't open it until I had unbolted it from the hatch.

how did you get open same thing happened to mine but I can't open it

I had to climb in the back hatch and unscrew the bolts that held the latch onto hatch. I think I also had to unscrew the back hatch plastic cover to get access to parts of it.
