Thanks Zack! You are certainly the most diverse car reviewer in the world. It's a please to have you as a good friend. Did you ever get a chance to floor it and feel the ridiculous acceleration despite weighing 9,000 pounds?? That truck outruns turbo Hondas and Subarus. It works for a living, of course! Today, it is all dirty at a radio tower site.

You'd have a hard time convincing me the LBZ is better than the LLY. Ordered a new 05 Silverado LT crew cab dually. Have 435+k and have yet to do any engine, trans, turbo work. Pull trailers weekly. Best investment yet !

I had at least 100lbs of tools in my crew cab full interior. Boosted it to 2500rpm and 4x4 launched in 4wheel high ran 8.3, 1/8th mile and 13.1, 1/4 mile in my 305,000 mile LBZ.

I have an LBZ....LOVE it. I traded off a 2019 GMC Sierra while truck prices were so high. Got this truck and love it more than my GMC. Mine has all the bells and whistles which I like, has the nice big console in the middle where you can stuff anything you can imagine, with all kinds of cup holders phone space. Has the push button 4 wheel drive, nice big bucket seats with arm rests. I've modified it quite a bit. Put new wheels and tires on it, replaced the turbo. Had 400k miles when I bought it. But it was in immaculate shape. Now has 460k miles and runs just as good as new. When my mechanic got inside to stud it and put the new turbo on he couldn't believe how clean and nice the injectors looked, the heads he said were still perfect and measured out like new. Going to try to take this truck to a million miles. People ask me how much for it and I can't even come up with a number. I might take 40-50k but I can't replace this truck for anything cheaper. Nor would I want too. If you have a chance to get an LBZ.....take it. They are worth every penny.

The same goes for the 7.3 powerstroke you change you're oil and diesel filters and it will last very well past 200k.

I love that truck. I would appreciate the diesel, but i can afford the gas version. I wasn't aware they still made old school trucks, that new.

0:25 that shift lever funny enough is one of those “ancient GM parts” thing as it was used in GM trucks from 2005-2019

Southern California. Except for the headliner, it looks like a new truck. I agree that these are the high point of GM trucks. Trucks before were fine but they were building up to this. Trucks after were cheap and plasticy and full of complicated gadgets. GMT800s are reasonably sized, reasonably well-built, reliable, and have enough tech to daily drive but not enough to break.

modern diesels are powerful and great, but they are so choked up that the shit that they used to let go into the atmosphere is clogging them up and making them less reliable than gas engines!

You want the better mileage for heavy duty truck get a diesel . I have a small school bus . Have gas engine 6.0 Chevrolet engine get a under 6 mpg on gas At my work . Are used to have a 2001 Nissan Xterra 4 x 4 xe The gas mileage Does little bit better than the school bus . Right now I’m driving a 2018 traverse all-wheel-drive I did lot better on gas in a 2001 xterra
