We'll probably never see another 83 win team win the World Series ever again.

I disagree, mainly since the 2020s, we now have tons of teams in both leagues making the postseason, so it wouldnt surprise me if this 2020 decade we get a team making the postseason with a .500 record or losing record or 82 wins, and maybe win it all.
@coreyrowe411910 ай бұрын
@@hmhm856 usually teams winning the WS have at least 88-90 wins these days, you'll occasionally see extreme underdogs make deep playoff runs but it's rare they actually win it all.

@@hmhm856 We just saw the Arizona Diamondbacks & all of their 84 wins topple the Brewers, Dodgers, & Phillies in the NL postseason, & came within a whisker of winning Game 1 vs the Texas Rangers in the 2023 World Series before the Rangers rallied to win Game 1, the D-Backs did take Game 2 so, hypothetically speaking, they could've been ahead 2-0 heading back home in that Series. But they only could manage a split, & the Rangers then took all 3 games at Chase Field to capture their 1st World Series championship.

Anthony Reyes pitched a gem in game 1. He only had 90 pitches when LaRussa took him out of the game in the bottom of the 9th inning. 1:23 That was a very nice pitch

The reason this happened in the first place is no other team in the NL central could eclipse 84 wins. That layoff killed Detroits momentum. Would a healthy Pedro have mattered with the Mets bats going cold? A World Series trophy was served to them on a silver platter.

Just like the layoff that killed the Nats momentium in 2019. Oh wait, layoffs are just a stupid excuse to use when your team loses or a team you don’t like wins. Go cards 11 titles more than you

Your cubs only won a World Series because the Indians out choked them. Cubs got way more lucky than this cards team. Cards killed Detroit, cubs squeaked by the Indians.

Tigers demise and rise from 03-06 was an extremely complicated strategy. Draft Verlander with pick #1 in the 06 draft, sign Carlos Guillen, sign Pudge, sign Maglio, sign Kenny Rodgers, sign Todd Jones, call up Granderson and hire Jim Leyland. Back when buying a contending team worked.
