I have this guitar. It is weight relieved (chambered). I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncans JB and 59. I had the bridge and tail piece upgraded to a Tone Pro. I think it sounds as good or better than a LP Standard for much less money. Much of the cost of some electric guitars is the paint job. So with this you are just paying for the guitar and what makes it sound good. I've had it for almost 20 years.

It still one of my favorite, light weight is the best part and finish is honestly better than standard LPs. Thanks for watching.

I have one similar except mine is chambered with burst bucker pro PUPs. I got it in 2008 for a very good price. It's very light, feels featherweight, and the sound is exceptional, especially on midway pickup setting, infact, even though it has a basic worn cherry finish without binding , it competes with very expensive Les Pauls.

It is my favorite guitar right now - I love everything about it especially weight (always wanted lighter Les Paul) and finish is better then any shiny Standard LP IMO. Thanks for watching.

@@Klaxet You have a superb video here and I thank you. Meant to add, two days ago I purchased the brand new 2024 Les Paul Studio in blueberry burst. A gorgeous instrument to look at, it has binding and Burstbucker Pro p'ups & coil taps ..cosmetically a wonderful instrument BUT the sound is no way as great as on one of the basic worn cherry Studios. I was quite stunned and kind of disappointed. The midway pickup selector position on these worn cherry/worn brown Studios reminds me of the vintage blues tones found on old Albert King tunes. Very nasal and Telecaster sort of sound. My one sounds like the out of phase Peter Green sound. Thanks again!

I have exactly the same it plays like a dream and its different that's what I like about it. I don`t like glossy less pauls . Everyone has those but this is rare and that's what I like about it.

Well, did you keep it? Im looking at one now. Same year and they are asking 1k.

Didn't keep it. As I mentioned in the video frets was worn out - pits from 1 to 4th, so I took it back to the shop - they didn't want to give me at least 100 bucks discount or free fret work so I returned it. Later bought exactly the same only 2003 model with PAF pickups and I love it. I will do video soon.
