Great video. What was the reason for the engine replacement?
@pinpointautomotiverepair15927 жыл бұрын
Bob_the_builder Builder, excessive oil burning on multiple cylinders. She had 208,000 miles, though this was not her first engine 😂

The old 6.0s run forever. My 03' Escalade EXT has 250k original motor. Although I did the transmission (shocking I know) last year along with brake lines all the way around. My lil bro has a 13' Yukon Denali (std/shorty) and the afm 6.2 in her is Toast! @ just 215k😤. We'll be doing this same job soon

Thanks for the video series. Your videos were the main driver in attempting to swap my 2007 tahoe engine. Answered a ton of unknowns that I had!

I have to say, as an avid SMA fan, I think so far your repair videos are filmed better than Eric's. As far as camera angles go. I mean so far this is looking like a fantastic video!!!!

I have many of the same tools as you, including that yellow light that I've had for many years. We're twins. I wonder where you get all those caps and plugs from and what white marker that is.

Looks like a 2007+ Yukon. AFM takes out another previously bullet proof engine. Best thing to do aftermarket is to delete the AFM programming to prevent oil burning/lifter failure.

You're totally right. I was wrong on the year, this is a 2007 vehicle. Good catch!

If I wanted to replace my engine in a 2002 5.3l Yukon.. can I just swap a replacement engine only without having to use the new engines ECU? Are the motors swapable without replacing any electronics

Alright Triangle Diagnostics, I see you changed your logo around a little bit. While that's all well and good, it's..........no good. We faithful subscribers as a whole do not like change and that was way to drastic to hit us with all at once. I urge to change it back to the original or there may be consequences. Dunno, I can't see into the future but I'm just sayin'. LOL Really like the nuts and bolts video, gives us a break from the brain busting diag vids that sap all my energy trying to keep up with, I usually watch an episode of Jerry Springer afterwards to make me feel better about myself. Look forward to part 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9...........well you know what I mean :)
@pinpointautomotiverepair15927 жыл бұрын
I certainly hope that you can deal with the change! I'd certainly hate to lose ya 😂😂😂. Yeah I enjoy the nuts and bolts of things. I think as a whole the diagnostic community loses sight of the technicality and fulfillment of actually executing the repair. Not just anyone can fix cars, have to enjoy it all!

@pinpointautomotiverepair15927 жыл бұрын
Pico Boo, I use them for torquing wheels. After I have hand torqued a wheel to specification it immediately gets removed. That way if I get interuppted or pulled off a job I know which wheels haven't been torqued to spec. Any wheel that comes off of a vehicle I'm servicing gets one.

Got to love these Death On Demand (or Drinks Oil on Demand) engines that might get .5 more mpg when operating correctly. Why did GM ruin one of the best motors out there? Did a Ford engineer sneak over to GM and slip in one of their famous over-engineered designs?
@DrJ2627 жыл бұрын
yep they took a 300 k engine and made it a 100k
@benmudn7 жыл бұрын
I would've loved to see 100k! 07 started getting really thirsty around 50k, and my 09 chewed the cam and lifters at 30k. I've had 2 untouched non-DOD 5.3s with over 200k that ran great.
