Hi im about to do the same on my 2.0tdci. 2010. Did you remove the sub frame?
@mg74xbgt2 жыл бұрын
@@marcboylen2813 We dropped the rear engine /box mount so that the engine basically swings in the engine bay. We had to actually drop the driveshafts out completly as we couldn;t get it to pivot far enough for them to pop out. 6 speed is heavier than 5 speed. So we used an engine crane over the top with bonnet removed just to make the job easier. Make sure the engine is properly supported when you remove top gearbox mount !

Nicely done mate, there's a fair bit of stuff to move to get to this one, full mark's for an efficient job, surprised not to see a torque wrench involved though. Best wishes, Stuart, Uk.
@Roy7502 жыл бұрын
When you do the job every day, you know when things are tight enough. & he does use a torque wrench on critical stuff like wheel bolts. It would take forever to look up every torque spec for every bolt & nut on every job.
@stuartlockwood96452 жыл бұрын
@@Roy750 Hi mate, I agree, you get a feel for tightness, I was a motor engineer many yeas ago, and people who worked on stuff after me used to complain the bolts were too tight,! ,but nothing I worked on ever fell off, lol. Proof of the pudding or something, this wasn't a criticism aimed at Kevin, I can tell he knows his stuff, and could work on my car anytime, kind regards Stuart, Uk.
@Roy7502 жыл бұрын
@@stuartlockwood9645 my relationship with torque wrenches isn't great. When I was a mechanic I stripped/snapped way more fasteners torquing to "book spec" than I ever did tightening by hand or with an impact gun. Now I'm an Engineer, my torque wrench only comes out once a year to be calibrated at work! But I frequently use torque wrenches at home for motorcycle engine & chassis components just for piece of mind more than anything.

Can you do this without taking the slave cylinder off as I don’t have a clutch bleeding kit
@WMCS2 жыл бұрын
Avoid using bleeding kit if possible. Very easy. Crack open bleed nipple. Slowly pump pedal several times. Get someone to hold pedal down. Close the bleed nipple. Pump pedal again several times. Hold pedal down and crack bleed nipple open. You should be good to go after that.
