We hit a top speed of 70+ miles an hour last week on my 200cc Lifan 5 speed racing shifter kart, but we were hoping for more. This week, we're making adjustments to the chassis and engine to achieve 80mph. We're changing the gear ratio to a smaller rear sprocket, raising the top speed, changing the air to fuel ratio for more fuel to give us a more rich fuel mixture at high RPM, reinforcing the engine mounts, and doing a DIY alignment. Coming from an alignment with negative camber and toe in, our DIY alignment should make the racing kart more stable at speed. With these adjustments, we're hoping to increase the top speed and stability of the kart at high speeds.
