Great Job Viktor . I've been A mechanic since 1973.I worked for Volkswagen And Audi dealers for 33 Years. One thing I always did when pulling a steering wheel was leave the nut on at least a few threads because if you leave the nut off and have to pull extra hard like I saw a few mechanics in the shop do was they pulled so hard when the steering wheel released the steering wheel hit them in the Face and Knocked out their front teeth. This won't happen if you leave the nut on the shaft at least a few threads. In The Dealer for 33 years I saw the Good The bad And the ugly for sure of when could and did happen in a high volume shop at the dealer. Be Safe it can be very dangerous Working on Automobiles. 👍 Stay Safe . Also Always Wear Eye And Ear Protection When Needed

Do you know if you can use a steering wheel assembly from a 2015 RX on an earlier model 2010 RX?
@Viktor_G_Automotive4 ай бұрын
@@owenperry9937 it will bolt up fine, but the wiring may or may not be a bit different, depending on the trim and and option level.

I used the same drill as yours. But for some reason the drill couldn’t move and loosen the big 19mm nut. Is it too tight to loosen ? Any help would be greatly appreciated it

Hi, the 1/2" impact wrench should have absolutely no problem loosening that nut. Check to make sure that the battery is fully charged and, if it is, you may have a faulty impact wrench.

@@Viktor_G_AutomotiveIs there a torque spec. for the steering wheel nut?

Disregard, I missed you saying to torque it to 37ft lbs.

In my RX350 2012 airbag was mounted differently. There was no torx bolts. In my car you have to undo 3 spings that holds airbag. Probably because I have after-lifting steering wheel.

Hi Viktor, I’m looking for advice and any suggestions. I just picked up my 2015 Lexus RX350 from the shop and I found that the car horn doesn’t work and when steering wheel comes out and back when I turn on and off the car, there is a noise that it hits something, but no noise while driving. They replaced my steering column and steering wheel. What are your thoughts? They also had Lexus dealership to replace the steering lock ECU(computer), would that be the problem? They are messing around with me and don’t want to take responsibility now. Thanks in advance.

Hi, unfortunately it would not be possible for me to say what is wrong without looking at the vehicle myself and diagnosing it. The issue you describe is not something that I have run into in the past.
