I thought the info was great. Fixed my problem exactly! My solenoid was just slightly stuck... I cleaned with WD40 and it started working better than it had in years! Probably some soft drink stickiness on it? If you could employ someone to "video" while you talk it would be better because it's frustrating not to see exactly what you're talking about... but again, the info was perfect! Thanks!

This happens a lot on e Series vans too. Try putting the key to accessory position. Then the lever should shift. Shift to N--- hold your break so you do not move. Start car. Then shift to either d or R

@@seannyc88 check all the connections to make sure it is plugged in when you push the brake the selinoid should actuate if it does and it doesn’t release the shifter there is another problem also make sure when you push the brake power is getting to the switch but like I said before I am a backyard mechanic not a professional might need to seek more help

Clayton Combest did you replace the brake switch by your brake petal because it sends power to the safety interlock switch

Unfortunately either your linkage is broken or the transmission has had it. check the fluid see if there is any in it ,and if there is, and it is more brown than red and smells burnt you probably gotta get a new transmission. Unless you feel like tackling it I suggest having it towed to a shop

MrSpeed696 transmission just got rebuilt back in April. It’s a 20010 spot trac. Interment panel says park AID is on I have no idea how to turn it off or on. I can’t fiend a switch or button. I’m thinking that might be why it doesn’t go in gear I’m wandering if anyone has herd of a similar issue?

I did not dislike the video but have a simpler solution. This has worked for me on E series vans and Explorer. Turn key to accessory position ( one click before start position). From there-- put your foot on brake and shit. You should be able to put it in neutral. Then start the vehicle and put it in drive. Just be careful about sliding backwards in neutral if you are on a hill. Keep foot on brake.

You absolutely should if you like working on cars why not u never know what u can do until u try use all available info KZbin, google and hate to go old school a chiltons manual that u can buy at the auto parts. Lori if u start posting vids send me a link I’ll give u some views.
