yes, I usually do that.. but in instances where you don't have the original coding, it works great to read the new/used modules coding, then save it, then write it back and change the vin...

if you are using a used plate, you just read the coding, then save the file, then click write coding, then input VIN, and the program writes it to the plate.

And if the old TCM is damage and no longer read how to do scn coding with avdi please i have a situation i don't know how to handle this with avdi Then just virginize the Conductor plate by hooking directly to it, then hook up the plug from the car and hook up to the OBD2 plug, then read the data from the TCM, it should show virginized, then click personalize, then it will ask if you have a file, or if you want to personalize with data from the EIS, click on data from EIS and it will transfer data from EIS to TCM, and then write the coding, then if you want, you can click on activate... if you don't activate, it will automaticly activate after about 40 ignitions...

A quick question. Does your software give you the connector diagram which explains what pins to connect to on the 722.9? Since you have a prefabbed one I'm guessing it's the same for all 722.9? Thanks for the great video, BTW.

Yes, if you go to page 103 of this link, you will see the diagram... Just remember how you are looking at it though... This is standing at the front of the car looking at the plug on the transmission... I get more calls saying the cable I made doesn't work.... Yes, it is the same for all the 722.9 conductor plates... Tim I am thinking about getting the Abrites for Mercedes. I am also looking at the Diagspeed software also do you have any experience with that software? I will also be looking at the Vag and Bmw software. These packages seem to be the next step for us since shops that can program easy obd autos and codesmiths are becoming more common in our area. Doing the harder or odd looks like there will be more profit in it.

I was at Just Cars and talking to the guys at Diagspeed... I have been told that Diagspeed is faster at pulling passwords... But I have also been told that VVDI and another chinese tool are quicker... I haven't seen a side by side comparison... so I can't say.... I think Diagspeed is good software, but can it do VAG??? No, you have to have another program for that... I am spoiled, I have a full AVDI, and I love it... it has paid for itself many times over... I realy like the VAG and Mercedes programs, they made it so easy an old guy like me can figure it out in minutes... I am not going to say anything bad about the BMW software, but sometimes it is trying to say the least... For the newer BMW's I am trying out ACDP, and I like what I have seen so far.. did a FEM in about 15 minutes... another locksmith brought me the FEM and the DME... I am a big AVDI fan because I can carry a laptop backpack, and do most of the cars out there... The biggest thing I like about AVDI is that it opens new markets to me, I do more module replacements than keys nowodays... becuase of the codesmiths and trunk slamers with chinese programmers... PS, Abritesusa.com has a just cars special where everything is 15% off until monday...

I did virginez the module , put the the used module in the car .. it can be readen.. when i click personalize and click no to get the data from the EZS it said errorr comunication.. i have tryed with several ISM module the same result.. should i change the ezm as well ? Hope i will get answer .. Thank you..

What are you using to virginize the module?? and is the module from the same model car?? I can tell you the trouble I have been having with ISM and AVDI... I have replaced the ISM and been able to write the data I have saved from the old module, but nowhere in AVDI can it do the initial calibration setup.. I have an Autel maxisys elite that I bought just for that... I have a friend who can do it with his chinese Xentry, but I didn't try mine.. Autel dose such a good job, I just bought it and never looked back.. Are you able to read and save data from the original module and then write that to the new used module??

@@timtracy9442 Hello.. I have used the same Avdi from your video.. now i have found the right ISM like my car w221 350 petrol 2006. I have done the clone and everything was ok the car was able to start and change from D to R and Park. Than i changed ghe oil because it was very dirty. Next thing the car shows again red sign VISIT WORKSHOP WITHOUT SHIFTIN GEARS . I dont know why.. My car is w211 3.5 petrol with taxi featured from the mercedes.. Ps( sorry for the english )

Yes, AVDI puts the plate back to virgin status. When you fire up Star/Xentry, it sees the module as a new module..

I would have to say no... The reason is, if you watch the video, you will see how it reads the module, then sends the data to the Abrites server, then receives a file back that it writes to the module making it a virgin module... But hey, if you spend a couple buck on a clone and it doesn't work, you are only out a few bucks... unless it fries a module... But that only happens when you have the customer breathing down your neck and they are ready to go on holiday for a couple weeks....

The transmission was a couple years newer than the car it was going into. Yes, the conductor plate is pretty much the same electronics for all the models. I am in the great Northwest, by Seattle

No, sorry... I can virginize it without the car, but to personalize it and activate it, you have to have it on the can bus of the car... I would ask around to locksmiths in your area, see if any of them have Abrites for mercedes... Good luck...

What is the part number of the module?? Just remember, for a mercedes DME, you have to virginize the module, then personalize, then activate it... You don't just program it to the car... unless you purchase one already virginized... I had a shop this week that asked me to personalize a 722.g conductor plate... It was a brand new plate... I had to use bluepoint to be able to get it to work... The factory modules come with no software and need a file loaded to them before you can personalize them....

Well, it will probably start and go into gear, but depending on year and model, it will throw codes because the VIN isn't correct and after 50 starts, it can lock the module out of the system... Later models won't even start without the Conductor plate coded to the car... If the car has the shifter on the column, later model all wheel drive cars, the conductor plate and the ESM, Electronic Shift Module, have to be coded and also synced together before the car will start... There is a process to sync the modules, what this does is, when you shift to Reverse, the shifter puts the trans in R, and then the Conductor plate needs to see exactly where the trans is, then it does it with Neutral, then Drive, then it tells you to put it in Park and completes the routine.... If you have a used trans and you just virginize and then personalize the modules, they seem to keep there sync, if you have modules from different transmissions, or a new one, you have to sync the modules... Sorry, long winded explanation....

@@ericcampbell3418 No, Mercedes will tell your customer there is no way to use a used part... They will tell customer that for about $3,000.00 they will replace conductor plate and program into car... and there will be no warranty on the trans, but a two year warranty on the conductor plate... You need to find someone who can virginize and personalize the conductor plate for you... Where are you located?? there are locksmiths all over the US who can do this...

ECU is the Engine computer, GEAR BOX is the trans conductor plate, which is what you want, ISM is the intelegent Shift Module, does your car have the shifter on the floor or on the column?? If it is on the column, you have to sync the ISM to the conductor plate..

yes, to virginize, you have to connect directly... once the module is virgin, you hook module up to the cars can bus, and then personalize thru the OBD2 port... The reason you have to go direct to virginize, is because the cars gateway sees it is from another car and blocks out communication to the module... Hope this helps..

Well, it is about 5 or 7 years old.... But it is a real Abrites, not a chinese imitation... The real one gets updates about every quarter... Just realize, if you use a chinese version, there is no support, and the software is about 5 years old.... I follow behind a lot of folks who have FVDI, and trust me, I don't charge less when someone else has messed things up.......

You can personalize the module via OBD2, but you can not virginize the module via OBD2... You have to have a direct connection to the module... And you have to be online.... That is why I say in the video the two things you need are good battery and good internet....

Try to disconnect the master modules if you feel insecure with direct connection and after Virginize connect all modules back so it can personalize means copy vin from master moduls
