I made an incorrect statement. I said that a shorted input to a module can bring down a CAN bus. After being given a heads up by Paul Danner, I didn't want to misinform the public, and cause unneeded work to the viewer. The yaw rate sensor is a module on the can bus in that video(an oversight of mine). The CAN wire to that sensor/module was shorting to ground, causing a problematic CAN waveform. While in my video I did say that a yaw rate circuit issue can bring down the entire network, that is true, but in this case it's part of the network, and yet I deemed it an input. A shorted 5vref however can cause communication issues to its module. But it WILL NOT cause a CAN bus to go haywire. Only a lack of communication to that module. BIG DIFFERENCE. The last thing I want is for someone to see my video, take what I said, see a bad CAN waveform, find the culpable module, but then needlessly depinning inputs or further testing to rule out inputs to that module as an issue. The intent of all my videos is to aid in this craft, not to create needless work for its viewers.

Nice job! Some are easier than others for sure, but its not luck , it's your knowledge and skill that found it!

That's CRaZy man!.....I just had a 2010 Corolla with the exact same symptoms.....the exact same signal you had on CAN high.....and CAN low was shorted......no tach or speedo.....and couldn't communicate with the CAN network on my scantool...... I unplugged the ECM and Brake Module just like you did, but made no difference.......I studied the diagrams too and was gonna go for the junction connector just like you, but honestly looked and couldn't even find it, seemed like it was buried.......so on a hunch, and what I had heard and read from others.....and from studying the diagrams......I decided to unplug the steering angle sensor......and.....BLAM!!!!!.....that restored Comms, and the tach & speedo & everything.......the only code left in it is for that steering angle sensor because I have it unplugged...... And I just posted a video about it on my Facebook & Nextdoor page....and then just happened to come across this video of yours.......so felt like I had to comment about it.......yours was the exact same symptoms as mine, but 2 different sensors/CAN wire short locations......causing the exact same symptoms.......and exact same CAN signals.......that's pretty crazy to me.

Great video, Mario! I haven't seen that issue, yet. But I have a feeling that I will eventually. Was there any electrical clips, or anything undone that allowed the harness to rub on that bracket?

Nope, i think they might've stuck an umbrella in there, bent the metal into the wire. That's my theory 😆

Great example, another one where it is not the module itself, but a bad input. I wonder how often modules are replaced, only to find that the problem persists because of bad input.

A client complaint that when he was on motion is airbag blew. Eventually, he noticed that the smoke was emanating from the engine bay. Hence, he pop-up the hood and saw that the smoke was coming from the ABS module. He called a mechanic to unplug the ABS module connector. Afterward, the connector was connected back. Henceforth, he has noticed that his steering is stiffer to steer. Additionally, he said : "the car isn't moving smoothly as before." Yesterday, he called and said even the headlight and other lights aren't working again in the car. The check light appears first, brake light second then finally the P/S light appears. They lights don't come out at once. It's a 2010 Toyota Corolla Le. Please how do I fix the problem?

So I finally found the issue. I thought it was in the back door because I unplugged the harness leading to the back door and lost voltage. That harness ended up also feeding the blue tooth module in the rear of the car. The module waa covered in water with green crust all over it. This was one of the hardesss draw I had because no codes all the diagrams on alldata and Identifix was wrong or misleading. The amp draw waa really small and intermittent crazy one. I feel embarrassed I have around 5 to 6 hrs in it. I believe they auction this car because of that issue. Everywhere I looked bolts where missing.
