2011 ford escape idles rough then dies or stalls

We fixed our rough idle stalling issue with a new maf sensor engine codes p0174 p2195 p2197

This is a great video. I had this exact same problem on my daughter's 2010 Escape. Not accelerating, stalling, and check engine light came on. It was throwing codes P2196 and P2198 which are O2 sensors. They are very expensive and one is in a bad spot. I watched this video and countless others. Just posting my fix in case others have the same issue. I first checked the purge valve and it was fine. Next, I replaced the mass air flow sensor (the #1 problem with these) and it didn't fix the problem. I then replaced the electronic throttle body (#2 problem). The old one was filthy. I did a hard reset on the vehicle by running a wire from the positive ON the battery to the negative wire OFF the battery. Let the car idle for 20 minutes and then went for a long drive. All was good after. There are videos about the throttle body also. Both parts are fairly cheap. I think I paid $125 for both on Amazon.

Hello friend! I had a similar issue. It died suddenly yesterday in the highway, luckily I was able to pull over. It turned on normal, idle for 5 seconds and then die. No error codes. After 1 hour checking I had to tow it to home and checked everything unplugged every sensor and connectors, unplugged the battery, everything. I was about to give up when it changed, it was turning on and then immediately die. I googled that and found your video. I checked and bingo! The wing of a month inside the MFS Turns out that I checked the integrity of the air filter yesterday in the morning and there were a lot of insects parts. Looks like some of them made it to the other side of the filter and I didn't notice. I drove normal for like 1 hours but when I took the highway and push a lot of gas, the vacuum sucked the moth wing and it ended in the MFS. YOU SAVED ME A LOT OF TIME AND DOLLARS

Ok changed my maf sensor and it worked later I had to clean my throttle body and it worked.

Mine just die afew hours ago then started and running rough but when you accelerate till the bottom runs good .. I don't know if is a maf sensor or fuel punp

Engine codes were p0174 running lean and p2195 o2 sensor and p2197 o2 sensor I suspect that the maf sensor caused the o2 sensor faults

Was about to ask if y'all figured it out. I'm fighting a lean burning issues with my truck. Says "bank 1 running lean". So I'm gonna look at the fuel pump. If that doesn't fix it I'm gonna look at a upstream O2 sensor

abandoned my lil ford for year going to to try getting it running 😰 changed battery , oil change turned it on for few days not any other suggestions to do next? problem before it being dead it wouldn't go lil after 20mph is this what you did should i do nextt? 🙏🙏🙏💯

Replace fuel first , if it sat for a year fuel is bad

Get a maf airflow sensor cleaner for like $2 or 3 dollars

I think a resistor went bad in it if you keep watching I'll show you the inside of the sensor
