2011 THE YEAR MATT HARDY HAD DEMONS!

2011 Was not a good year for the older Hardy brother. He was granted his WWE release in 2010 after a long running battle. He had weight problems and personal problems. He wanted to join his brother JEff in TNA and now he finally had his chance. Problem is both Hardy Boyz were not in a fit state to wrestle. Whilst everyone likes to talk about hte Jeff Hardy 2011 Victory Road incident, Matt wasn't exactly being an angel himself. He got arrested mutiple times and was eventually fired from TNA.

Boy oh boy, this was such a frustratingly difficult time being a fan of the Hardy Boyz. Seeing my childhood heroes’ lives falling apart before our very eyes, while little me was trying to do my absolute best to defend them against the constant hate they were getting, but to no avail because both of their demons kept rearing their ugly heads. It’s a shame I was too young and naive around this time to truly understand the severity of the situations Matt and Jeff were in. I’m so glad that Matt is clean now and is (for the most part) still going strong, and while sadly Jeff still has his issues with drinking from time to time, I’m glad it’s nowhere near as bad as it was in the early 2010s.

How does Lita factor into any of this? I'm sorry, but Matt's choices were Matt's choices and no one else's. Matt made the decision to make the alleged affair public, just like he made the decision to abuse drugs and alcohol. Stop making excuses for a grown ass man. Additionally, Reby is also EXTREMELY problematic, so his marrying her and subsequently having a family with her may not be the flex you think it is.

Matt Hardy debuted the dreadlocks in one of his videos by talking about 'reincarnating' himself. It's in the "A New Path.. With A New Look?" video. It adds a nice layer of 'uh, what's your point?' to that 2011 TNA run, while eventually making for a callback when reincarnation becomes a plot point/mechanic in the Broken Universe.

Grew up a Matt and Jeff fan and was still a Jeff fan even when he turned heel in TNA (it’s absolutely a mixed run for fans. Some like it some hate it) and when he had that match with sting I felt my heart sink I was so disappointed in what he had done. And then I found a video of him and Matt on KZbin in a greasy diner and they were clearly drunk or high out of their minds and Jeff could barely keep his eyes open as he started talking shit about CM Punk saying CM Punk owed his career because if he hadn’t have gotten suspended from that money in the bank ladder match Punk replaced him in Punk wouldn’t have won the briefcase and won his first world title and he flipped off the camera with both hands and said “you’re welcome” and I just remember sitting there at 16-17 heart broken seeing how far they’d both fallen and how bitter they were. When Jeff came back to TNA later doing the “one more shot” gimmick and they made a storyline out of his redemption and getting off drugs I bought into it 100% because I wanted so badly to believe it was true.

They had multiple matches with Sting I didn't knew that, after they left WWE, for years I was searching for them, that where are Hardys, then I realized they are in TNA, but I couldn't watch the match, like I can watch them right now 😢

The nose eating itself is obvious, but it comes when you snort stuff you're not supposed to. There is an American comedian, Artie Lange, who had his nose completely give out because he was a heavy user. It got so bad, I guess he accidentally tried actual glass that caused his nose to collapse in on itself? It's the worst I've ever seen, cuz most people just get the ability to whistle with their nose. But I think a more realistic story is the drugs eat away at the inside of your nose and the cartilege just cant support it anymore.

Paul London trashing on Matt Hardy at the beginning is real rich, with hindsight being 20/20.

London is a pothead who doesn't refrain himself from burying tons of people (particularly when high) but nothing even close to this degree.

TNA averaging 1.2 million viewers but could barely make 120,000 PPV buys across all of their yearly shows combined 😂 Literally 3 AEW PPV's sold more than the entire Hogan and Bischoff era combined in TNA.

lol I enjoyed this run because I was like ten & the Hardys previous runs were an established part of all of our childhoods but even then I knew they were far from their prime; It’s insane how people are still justifying them being in the ring when Matt limps like an aged racehorse & Jeff’s face tells it all every time he hits a swanton.
