We lost an old colleague (Captain David 'Pats' Patton, SRR) on a snatch mission to grab some Taliban commanders. On the ground it was the Gurkha Regt that took control after everything went pear shaped. I didn't know what the air involvement was unfortunately, but this gives a good view from that perspective. Many thanks for another great video.

I don't know how you keep up the pace of these war game videos. They are simply fantastic. The work you put into it, all of you, is so appreciated. I love fighter aircraft sims. My dream is to assemble a 737 flight simulator but that dream is so grandiose I'd need to take out a second mortgage. Cap, your enthusiasm is wonderful and I'm so glad the health issues that affected you earlier this year seem to have been resolved. This morning, I re-watched the F-104 Starfighter interceptor mission against the fleet of Soviet bombers with conventional Sidewinders and then the nuclear tipped missiles. I love that video where you can get the feel of the beastly power in that plane. Carry on Reapers!

Did I just watch an entire GR mission where nobody crashed or got shot down?!

“Flown by humans” as opposed to “flown by dogs” 😂 Thanks for running Cap. Enjoyed spectating you guys. Ground AI as always being the thing that went wrong, but it wouldn’t be DCS otherwise. Hope ppl enjoy the footage.

Cap, are you going to have a look at the new Cold War naval simulator that's coming out in November? It's called Sea Power, looks right up your street!

First ever Pizza delivery Simulator video on the channel. There is probably a ARMA 3 mod for that.

Op Neptune Spear was conducted from Jbad to Abbottabad which is in Pakistan close to the indian border. That is outside of DCS's developed sandbox at this time (and definately outside of the high detail area at the moment). cheers

😊 The word Chinook is pronounced like book, which only in some areas in the UK is pronounced like the call of a ghost, boo. So book not boo.

I instructed a text-to-speech platform to sound cockney and this is what it came up with 😂 It made me chuckle so much I kept it in. There was an earlier reference to “Hampton Wick” as well

You do know that the CIA flooded that area with Stingers during the Russian occupation?

They did indeed. And not just Americans of course. I didn’t have time to discuss in the video really, but what we have to remember is this is the latter end of the conflict. By this point, whole generations of men have died. And I mean whole generations. We typically think of losses through a western lens, but of course mujahideen veterans, their sons, and their peers were all lost over the decade that preceded this mission. We also have to remember that many of the anti-soviet militias actually aligned themselves with the coalition (especially after Obama’s surge) and turned in their arsenals. It’s only really the pariah militias at this stage - cornered off to the north - that are primarily antagonistic. The news article that Cap shares discusses the manpad threat in depth, but at this stage - aside from the occasional posturing in videos - the emphasis is really on IED production and imports, as opposed to fighting for control of the air. Hope this helps :)

Was that what took down the Herc with the two RAF crews and an SF Sigs Operator? Edit: I've just found the article... that was Iraq, leaving Baghdad. Terrible loss.
