Thanks for making this video. It is possible for a dying er to do this job but prepare for some frustration. Everything is so tight and you are laying on the floorboard of your BMW. Push your passenger seat all the way back and you are laying on the track of your seat with your back. Make sure you have a foam pad. Follow this video exactly and you will complete the task. I installed the new original BMW blower the I had a problem starting one screw when I reinstalled the air duct? The new blower was installed and one of the duct screw studs in the new blower was “not” taped to receive a screw! No way was this unit coming out and it was a pain taping that hole. Check them before you I steal the new blower. Have fun!

I have a 2012 X5 and I am smelling a burning wire smell from the AC vents when the heat is on. Could it be the resistor or the entire blower motor?

It’s possible, you sure it’s not oil burning on exhaust manifold from leaking valve cover?

@@TheDeenOverDuniya yeah you would have a burning oil smell, does you blower motor function in all speeds?

@@EuropeanAutoRepair yup from low to high it functions as normal. But once the heat is on, there’s a burning wire smell coming through the AC vents.

Replaced my resistor and now fan won't work when properly installed. Do I need a new fan? 🤔 we tore the whole glove box apart to get a top view and nothing is kinked off. Any idea? Works when not installed and hanging down.

When the fan is not installed and hanging down it works properly?

That’s kind of unusual, it sounds like it must be contacting something inside the hvac box, is it a OEM blower motor?

I had the same issue! When I installed my new blower motor it won’t even turn on and it shows that it has power ?
