@@thisisyourtransmission my warning light for the trans is not working ,,, all icons illuminate on when u turn the ignition to accessory to show that they are working. my transmission is replaced but I think they did not hook up my dash light for the trans if it overheats it would illuminate so i have no warning light now. thankyou for responding.

If you feel there is an issue, than you should take the vehicle back to the repair shop. However, I don't ever remember a warning light for a transmission coming on when the ignition is turned on.@@63parisdiamonds

This helping my transmission on my Jeep Compass 11’ was rebuilt but it now i just changed my crankshaft sensor because it would shut down while driving down the highway 🛣 but now I got a reading of p717 in/output turbine sensor c121c torque request signal denied when I accelerate it moves with high rpm but has no balls so I’m praying it just a sensor and I’m able to change myself without removing the whole engine out
@thisisyourtransmission2 жыл бұрын
It could be the sensor, the wiring or the computer itself. However it needs to be checked.

Hi. Maybe you can assist me. I replaced my cvt transmission in my 2013 Jeep Compass. I swapped out the small computer that bolts to the solenoid/valve body pack. The Jeep runs and shifts, BUT it seems it’s is starting off in “3rd gear”. If I use the auto shift and go thru the gears it gets up to speed normally, but if I use “D” it kinda bugs down when I start off. Then if I push the auto shift over, it says “3”. Could one of the solenoids be bad ? I am showing no check engine light at all, no codes. Thankyou in advance for any help. Also your video was very interesting!!!!

p0843 transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch a circuit high 2012 patriot what does that mean ?
@thisisyourtransmission3 жыл бұрын
This appears to be an electrical code. You need to have someone use a wiring diagram, trace the circuit to check circuit integrity from sensor to computer. If wiring is ok, then faulty sensor or faulty computer.

Hi, one question, on a 2016 Patriot , my transmission scanner did not detect any codes, but when I used my bluetooth scanner with my phone application, it detect code P1715(00) and it says " Test failed since last DTC clear, Test not completed during this operation cycle". The car seems to drive fine, is this something I should worry about? My Autel ml629 scanner did not detect any code, thank you.

@thisisyourtransmission5 жыл бұрын
@@JGGarcia-kh8uq well the p1715 for a cvt points to an input speed sensor code. Best thing to do is drive the vehicle and monitor the input speed sensor with a scantool and see if the signal drops. If it does, then you check the wiring and connections. If good, then change the sensor.

@ThisIsYourTransmission CAN YOU DRIVE A CVT AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN 4X4 MODE?

An AWD yes. However, if it is designed to be switched form 2wd to 4wd, I don't know. You would have to check the vehicle manual.

Hi, I am having the same issue in my 2012 Jeep Compass (that looks identical to the one in your video). It started as soon as I let someone that I know (who never drove an automatic transmission before) borrow it. It turns out that person was using the CVT like a standard transmission (using the AutoStick at inappropriate times, driving at high speeds with the 4WD drive engaged, and coasting in neutral from a high speed) and drove it for around 100 miles with the transmission overheat light flashing on and off. I know the person I lent the car damaged the transmission because prior to me lending them the car, the fluid was in ok shape (It probably had about 20,000 miles to go before I neede to change it) and now the fluid is burnt and there are metal shavings in the transmission pan. I was quoted ~$4,000 for the parts and labor for the transmission, but the dealer where I bought it in to get the work done also said that the radiator might need to be replaced along with the transmission for another $1,500 (the car isn’t overheating at all and has good compression). Is the radiator somehow connected to the transmission, or is the dealer trying to up-sell me a part I don’t need?

If I remember right, the transmission cooler is a little round or square thing that fits on the transmission. I believe it cost about $300 dollars. How, many miles on your vehicle?
@glennmillerfan5 жыл бұрын
THIS IS YOUR TRANSMISSION Mine has 140,000 on it (it had around 110,000 when I got it in 2016). I know that the previous owner did a transmission flush when the car had 78,000 miles on it (late 2014) and the dealer told me shortly before my friend overheated the transmission that I had about 20,000 miles left before the fluid needed to be changed. The dealer wants $1,500 for the transmission cooler part and slightly less than $4,000 for the transmission. The dealer told me the transmission itself is $3,500 and the labor to put it in is around $3-400. I did get 4,000 miles out of the transmission after it overheated, so I guess I was lucky in that regard lol. With regards to the transmission problems, I am getting several codes (P0218, P0700, P0722, and P0735). The transmission itself slips really bad while I am traveling less than 30 miles per hours (it stays at about 3-4,000 RPM) and does not downshift until I get past that speed. I also feel the transmission shuddering pretty badly when I go to slow down.
@thisisyourtransmission5 жыл бұрын
$3000 should be able to get you going. $4000 -$5500 is kind of high.
@glennmillerfan5 жыл бұрын
THIS IS YOUR TRANSMISSION I figured that the dealer quote was a bit too high, as I live in a very high income area where all car repairs are more expensive than average. I did get a quote from another dealer that was $700 less for the repair ($3,800 plus tax), but the dealer is 30 miles from where I live. A very low mileage junkyard transmission may be an option for me, as I only drive around 4,000 miles a year right now and I am only looking to keep the car for another 5-6 years (it is in excellent shape despite the transmission issue and I recently spend $500 on it to replace the catalytic converter) and will likely replace it with a low-mileage 2002 Ford Explorer or 2002 GMC Envoy (two of the best SUVs ever made in my option). The only problem is that most junkyard transmissions I see for sale cost about the same as a brand new transmission and have over 100,000 miles on them, which means that they might have had the same issues as mine at one point.
