All that stuff can be eaten while tabbing around, without having to use any cup or utensils. just open and dump it down your neck. In the case of the drinks, mix it with water, shake and drink it from the pouch. You'd really be flying if you ate that entire MORE at one time.

Since I'm watching this over 2 years after it was put out, but I, too, missed the expected "Nice!" that I have come to expect and enjoy. Not only that, but his signature sign off about coming back with something new, (pauses) or old was missing. I felt like a kid on Christmas Morning, getting a box of a toy I'd been waiting ALL year long for, then opening it and instead of the toy, it is filled with packages of underwear. I wanna bust out crying. LOL (PS, that never happened to me. But I heard about it from a friend.) :-(

I had an acquaintance in ROTC in college, and he brought a couple of MREs for me and a friend to try out. If I remember correctly, it was with baked beans. To heat it up there was this plastic tube of sorts which you had to break, causing a chemical reaction which would heat it up. The MRE was placed on it. I have to admit, the food was pretty tasty!

great presentation as usual. yeah, corn nuts aren't the best choice in a noise restriction scenario, lol. but then again, I ate the freeze dried fruit cocktail straight from the package on road marches when available. love apples but I've never been a fan of applesauce for whatever reason but I'd probably find someway to make it more palatable or just suck it up and drive on. the Orange has always been weak for whatever reason so I'd probably trade with someone if I didn't have one in my MRE.
@kevinmoore29299 жыл бұрын
The corn nuts have their place but I guess they "ran out" of ideas of what to put in here *coughcough*oatmealbar*cough cough*cerealbar*coughcough*....I was a coffee drinking fool back then so I'd probably make that deal! If they'd just give them enough to fill one canteen, that would be great! A cherry base powder or one of the new Gatorade flavors would be a marked improvement. Even lemon tea would work better.

+Steve1989 MREinfo It had better be dark chocolate, if it's gonna be warm out. Hot weather was the reason for the Hershey Tropical chocolate bar (and, the D-ration " Logan bar"). I came home from work and was like "Oh cool, a new video from Steve1989 of those cool MORE rations".. I sat down, cracked open a beer, sat back and enjoyed the show (that mocha bar looks fantastic - again great hiking food).. Great video - then I got a pleasant surprise in the credits.. :) Thanks for the shout out man, and keep up the cool reviews :) Also - those corn nuggets are actually available at my local supermarket as some kind of exotic health food, "Gluten free snack" for an insane amount per packet. They're delicious, but kind of ironic considering MRE's are usually put together cheaply... So many ration reviews though, I need to catch up on Gundog's stuff...

One of my favorite channels! I've got some old C rations that are put away in storage from when my dad was in the NCNG. He worked in supply and they found a stash of them, so they've been sitting around for years. He found them in the early 80s and I can remember wanting to open em (I'm 37 now) to see what they taste like as a kid. If I can find em I'll gladly send some to check out and I might still have some more modern MREs from around 2000-2008 while I was in.

This struck me slightly, because these are the exact MREs we get in Cadets (Royal Canadian Air Cadets 781 Squadron).
