I have a 2019 370Z sport coupe 6M and love the car. What I discovered about the blind spots is that if you take the time to get all three of your rear-view mirrors aligned properly you can effectively eliminate the blind spots.

They are just too expensive and in an odd position in the market. Who wants to TT a 370z when you can buy used GTR's for $60k or a cheaper car that is built but can out perform it. I like the car but if you supercharge it then it isn't much quicker. Turbo's on NA are hard and expensive in a V formation. Just not an easy or cheap platform. Then the 350z are all beat to hell and by the time you rebuild that then you could have bought a low mileage 370 lmao. Just doesn't end!

Seriously fun car to drive. It has enough power to get you in trouble, but a good enough chassis to keep you out of it most of the time. The manual trans in these is one of the best out there. I've never understood people's complaints about the sound of the engine. I think it sounds fantastic. I'm not sure why he's getting such poor fuel economy. Could you review a Mercedes-Benz 560SL / 380SL / 450SL convertible {Mercedes R107 Chassis}? It's a sports car but more of a [HEAVY] high performance luxury cruiser. They are a dime a dozen in California as most were sold there. All american models had automatic transmissions and sealed beam quad headlights. EURO models had the no cost option of a 4-Speed Manual or (after 1980) 5-Speed Manual, if a buyer so desired. They have removable hardtops that you lift with 2 people, not retractable, with a manual non-power soft top underneath. A quick fact: this car was produced for an astonishing 18 years without any major visual changes from 1971 to August 1989. There are a few EURO models (some very rare manual transmission models) running around the U.S.A. during the grey market craze of the 1980s, even to this day. People flew to Europe, bought it and "federalized" it to U.S.A. EPA and DOT standards within 90 days upon arrival on U.S. shores. The grey market no longer exists anymore due to it being outlawed in 1988 by Mercedes-Benz in the U.S.A. The grey market was a legal way to import cars that wasn't officially sold in the U.S. and didn't require crash testing either. Wanted a much faster 500SL over the crappy 380SL? Grey Market was the answer. Some EURO BMWs of that vintage (like the BMW E30 Baur Cabriolet) were also imported this way, but most of the imports were Mercedes-Benz.

I own a 2012 6mt 370z. I think the Japanese muscle car statement is a bit overused. This car has independent rear suspension, an lsd, can pull a G in a corner, etc. I've always thought of it as a budget Porsche Cayman s. Nowhere near as refined but in that sense it's in a segment of its own. Kind of like how a grand Cherokee is in a segment of its own as a budget Range Rover of sorts.
@Zygrene8 жыл бұрын
I think the key is that the 370Z is a "Japanese" muscle car. It has some of the muscle car qualities we love, combined with Japanese sports car qualities like the well-tuned chassis, suspension, brakes, and engine response. Kind of a "best of both worlds" kind of car.
@LeonardRandall458 жыл бұрын
You can also argue that all current "muscle cars" have an LSD, IRS, and can pull over a G in the corners. With it's heavy weight and vehicle dynamics, the Z is far more similar to current muscle cars than the Porsche Cayman S. The Z on avg is about 300-400 lbs heavier than the Cayman.
@danielallocca77708 жыл бұрын
+rancleo sticking with my class of its own argument. The v6 mustang manual is over 3500lbs and is front heavy and sloppy in twisty roads - especially with a lot of switchbacks. The newest Camaro is lighter but also front heavy and bloated. Yes - the 370z is heavier than the Cayman but the Z is closer in its spirit and intent to the Cayman than a mustang or Camaro. Nobody at Nissan envisioned muscle cars as their target when engineering the Z. It's well documented that the Z was targeted at the Cayman S and the GTR at the 911 turbo
@tirekickers66327 жыл бұрын
I would definitely agree the 350z/370z are chasing after the cayman market. I don't think any car company can truly build a muscle car other than American car companies. Just like I don't think any american car company can really capture the spirit of cars like the 240sx, miata, s2000, etc.etc..Those cars almost embody the soul of the culture in a way and the environment/roads that the car was really designed for/after. Cars are an art form and the people who design/build them will show case the reality/culture they lived in through the car.

I would love to see you get your hands on a Z32. A VQ in a Z32 is one of my dream swaps, you'd lose something like 200lbs from the swap alone from an N/A VG to a VQ.
@Zygrene8 жыл бұрын
Really, 200lbs? Taking that much weight out of the front would go a long way to improve handling in an FR. Maybe it's time to post on the Z32 forums. :)
@ethownzbh8 жыл бұрын
+Zygrene Yeah people shipping the engines have weighed the VG30dett long block at over 600lbs and the VG30de at around 500lbs and iirc the VQs are just over 300lbs so you could drop the curb weight of a 2+0 coupe under 3000lbs and should easily get close to a 50/50 weight distribution.
@Zygrene8 жыл бұрын
That's insane. Makes an LS1 look a bit anorexic.
@ethownzbh8 жыл бұрын
+Zygrene I know right.
@bogdan1358 жыл бұрын
I would be a bit skeptical of 200 lbs weigh loss claim. You're likely comparing a twin-turbo engine with all accessories, mounts, plumbing, fluids and transmission to a stripped long block VQ. I'd be surprised if the weight difference after the swap (going from NA to NA) was greater than 50 lbs, unless you take out AC and power steering in the process and swap lighter headers.

Digital Broccoli I understand your argument and almost agree. Nismo is not the type of car, it stands for Nissan Motorsport. So I don't like when people badge their car as a nismo either but if they have a nismo license plate cover im all for it. Especially if they upgrade to nismo exhaust/cai/etc. I do however have a gripe when people put nismo body kits and nismo badges and pretend it's a nismo and advertise it as one. I guess I just don't like when people put nismo badges on their rear end for no reason. Especially people on Craigslist lol.
