I've wanted a Polaris 800 RZR for a while but after readin soooooo many negative reviews, I mean 65-70% negative, I might go with something else. This video kind of confirms my hesitating with one.

Good video PowerModz. Gave me a pretty good idea of what I got to seal up. And we do those kind of seals(sealant and vaseline) on aircraft every once in a while. We call them FIP seals, fit in place.

Polaris needs to up they're game when it comes to waterproofing the belt/clutch housing.

If I can offer any advice, wear gloves when working with chemicals, I've ingested, inhaled and absorbed too many chemicals over my lifetime, as a firefighter and working on toys. I just hope they don't kill me before I get to see my kids grow up. Be a man and wear gloves.

It would be easier to put the RTV silicon on before you put the cover back on the RZR. Lay the back cover down flat, put a couple washers on top of each screw hole for spacing, and then place the front cover on top. No worrying about the front cover moving and creating a gap in the silicone.

man id think a 1/4 inch rubber fuel line would work well split and atached to the cover with some silicone and grease the crud outta the rear portion of the housing not saying your setup wont work just as good but mine may be easyier if u need to get into it after a few hundred miles or so.. just a thought ... love your vids btw, I am very impresed with your snorkle!!

Is this the best way to seal it up? I got my xp 4 1000 stuck in a canal in florida in 2 feet water because belt got wet. Couldn't move felt like an idiot with awesome snorkels on it but can't cross any water. I wasn't submarining the thing just crossing the canal. Any response would be appreciated. Product list of what you used if you can.

Hey, that’s a great video! I have a Polaris general 1000 2018 and when I bought it from the auction it had damage on the front. The eps was broken, and the clutches would keep slipping. I changed the belt a few times and took it into the dealer. They said it was the clutch that we needed to replace. I got new clutches but i observed it closer and it looks like it would make a noise every time the the transmission would spin. I spent so much money on this and I don’t want to fix what doesn’t need to be fixed. Can I get your opinion on this? Thanks!

HAVENT PULLED THE CLUTCH ON MY RZR YET BUT ON MY POLARIS QUAD I JUST PUT THE IMPACT GUN ON THE REMOVAL TOOL PULL THE TRIGGER A COUPLE OF TIMES AND IT COMES RIGHT OFF. ARE YOU NOT ABLE TO DO THAT ON THE RZR ? THE TOOL LOOKS VERY SIMILAR AND THE CLUTCH IS BASICALLY THE SAME DESIGN I WOULD ASSUME.

id use a small rubber hose and cut a slit all the way down the hose looks like that would work good for that cover gasket

Thanks for sharing!! The tool you used at the beginning to loosen the secondary to get the belt off.. I can't find it anywhere, my local Polaris dealer has never heard of it...lol I told him I've heard they come in the original tool kit.... no luck there. Do you know what it's called or have a part #? Thanks!!! (I walked the old belt off but the new one is pretty tight and I don't want to damage it)

its the sheave spreader - comes in the tool kit - if you order a kit you'll get one.

LOL, that moment where he realized the reason his clutch casing was getting swamped was because of faulty install and QC at the Polaris factory... "C"MON MAN..." This guy gives a ton of free pub for Polaris, I hope they comp'ed him with some sweet mods or something...

every polaris i've owned 06 800 sportsman 2010 550xp 2011 550 xp and 2013 ranger 900xp most of them leaked from the back cover only being half sealed the 800 didnt have a seal at all if you can call that piece of foam a seal

It scares me how much silicone you put around the PTO seal. I’ve had a crank seal blow before. Not from silicone, but still. Lol.

if the machine is brand new sometimes you can get lucky and not have to seal the clutch cases for a few months or so but eventually yes you will have to take it all apart and seal it up yourself.

Never seen someone struggle so hard pulling a primary with the tool... maybe rap the impact on the puller next time and hold the primary with your hand... jamming a hammer in there isn't wise even though it's wood.

Just a helpful tip, if you "know" you'll be working with RTV silicon, wear gloves. That stuff is the worst, I use it a lot and believe me, not even the best hand cleaner works.

Epi sever duty belt. I don't run it, I run the heavy duty sixty belt. But epi is the best in my experience, but I don't need something that heavy duty.

You know those guys that come out and install 70% of your new roof and do an excellent job but then they leave the other 30% uncovered and its like pulling teeth to get them to come back and finish up if they come back at all? Thats what Polaris and Can am remind me of. They could have great dependable machines if they had any quality control and a desire to build things right like Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki. Instead, they choose to build a machine that will constantly break down due to no true clutch on the belt system, terrible seals if there are any to begin with and they the do a horrible job protecting the computer boards/brains that control the whole system. In my book they are PITIFUL and care nothing abou their customers! I would never own one unless I got it for free! They are money pits which your videos constantly show. Do you want a Polaris or Can am to run right or hold up folks? Well, you better get out your check book and go get your tools cause your gonna have to rebuild the machine if you want it to be a reliable trustworthy machine! Its easy to see the frustration on your face when you uncover some of these low quality problems. Polaris and Can am should step up to the plate and acknowledge that this low quality short cutting should stop immediately and should be considered as unacceptable practice! But I bet they won't do it, cause they only care about sales, not customer satisfaction!

I suggest you watch just about every other video I have with the RZR in it, I abuse and do my best to destroy it.....and it just keeps taking it. Water up to the roof, rolls, wide open throttle for hours, it's probably the best machine I've ever owned for the abuse it takes. The leaking seal bothered me but long forgotten.
